Solid Ball for the Price - Good for All-Around Use

Purchased this ball in May, 2013. My son has used this ball for training, “recreational play”, and 11v11 match play. (15-year-old male who plays competitive high level futbol and high school soccer)

Holds shape without flaw and have only had to pump up twice (and then with only 2 or 3 pumps from a small hand pump).

Only critique is that that I am not certain the weight is “official” – it feels a bit on the “light” side. Other than that, the feel and flight of the ball is more than adequate for a ball in this price range.

Brine makes a good ball

This is the second ball my daughter has owned in the past two years. She is in U12 academy and the ball gets heavy use. She had gotten a Brine soccer ball initially at a summer soccer camp two years ago and loved it. We got a new ball this year because her original Brine soccer ball was scuffed up pretty badly from heavy use. However, not once during that year did we have to pump the original Brine ball. The Brine ball retains its air better than any other soccer ball on the market. So when we decided to get a new ball, we immediately looked at the Brine brand. This Brine Phantom ball is an upgrade from the ball she got two years ago at the soccer camp and this ball seems to be withstanding the wear and tear even better than the first.

There are probably better balls that cost much more but this is about the best ball you are going to find for the money. It has great feel, is well made, and seems to hold air very well. I did order two and one does not hold air so that one is going back.

I will say it does seem slightly heavier than some balls but not to the point of being an issue.

*** Update ****
Two of these balls both died within 3 years. Kids were playing on artificial turf on hot day and both bladders popped. I do not recommend this ball and will likely avoid Brine in the future.

Okay, so I know most of the complaints on here say that the ball is not regulation size and that the ball comes crushed. Well yes, the ball does come crushed up but that wont influence the shape of the ball. That's how all the colleges in the nation get theirs too. You just have to pump the ball up all the way. In fact, I over-pumped it just a little so the ball was rock hard and I let it sit that way for a few hours. This will stretch everything into shape and make it full size. Then I let some air out and the ball was fine. It truly is a great, quality ball.

Excellent Soccer Ball

I bought this ball having only used the $12 Adidas Tango Glider replicas to practice. The difference in quality is astonishing. The Brine Phantom is definitely worth the money. Despite pumping it up to near solid, the ball still feels soft on the foot. There is a sort of coating on the Phantom that provides some extra grip, which makes it wonderful to dribble or shoot with. The shape and weight are excellent, and the design itself looks great.
To compare, I also bought the Nike Premier Team ball, which falls in the same price range. I prefer using this Brine for the way it looks and feels. If you are looking for a quality soccer ball that will last you a long time, the Phantom is an ideal choice.

It has been two months since I started using this ball. Despite using it for many hours every week, I have only had to refill its air twice, which to me is a mark of a quality soccer ball. The Nike Premier Team, on the other hand, requires pumping up every couple of days. The Phantom has lost some of the black "paint" on it, but that is mainly due to the frequency of use. This ball stills feels like new, and I would definitely purchase it again.

Haven't used this too many times yet but does seem to be a nice, soft ball. We've used it for a couple games and most of the players seem to like it. Still a little slick (very new) but otherwise a good grip. I'm a goalie so tend to be more concerned about grip than other players. I do like the feel of the ball: soft but still a good solid kick.

This is my first ball with a latex bladder and it makes a world of difference. The Phantom has great feel and the casing is very durable. It will get scuffed up but you won't see any gouges taken out this ball like the cheap balls you get for under $30. I have had this ball for about 3 months and have yet to re-inflate it. So I would say it holds air well too.

This is not the most supple or reactive ball I've ever used. It definitely has quality construction & materials, however. I've played with cheaper Adidas and Puma balls that have incredible grip, but tend to age relatively quickly (i.e., lose shape, scrape, etc.)

This ball is solid. Good to use as a game ball because it can stand up to aggressive play.
