This book is fast paced with LOADS of action, tons of humour, brawn, brains, beauty; the works. It has the full cast at play with all of our favourite dragons and crazy humans but this time Branwen the Awful and Aidan the Divine take center stage as everyone prepares for the final showdown in the war against Chramnisend and his followers.
Crap goes so wrong, Annwyl is M.I.A., and an important ally presumed dead. With so much going on Brannie and Aidan are forced to work together more than they ever have just to stay alive and their friendship blossoms, reluctantly, into something more. With lives and kingdoms at stake is there time for romance? When youre a dragon, you can bet your bum there is.
I laughed, I squealed, I hooted, I "oh no she didnt"ed. I loved every second reconnecting with these belovedly snarky, arrogant, awful, cocky, sarcastic, and smart mouthed characters. The dialogue was spot on and brilliant, but like I said, you really ought to read the whole series to see HOW brilliant this book was. As usual, I am blown away and wish the story didnt have to end.
As Brannie and Aidan journey on their quest, we get glimpses of what is happening to all of our treasured characters who are fighting against the evil One-Eyed god Chramneid's zealots. This book brings a large storyline to its finish...or does it just change the current adversary? So much happens that you have to pay close attention and read carefully. I absolutely love this series and hate when I finish a new release because I know I am impatient to find out what happens next. I highly recommend starting at the beginning so you will get to know all the characters and understand what brings us to the point of this major conflict in this book.
Don't forget the crazy humor this author writes and we all get to enjoy reading. Look forward to the next book in this series, but can't wait for March when her alter-ego comes out with Hot and Badgered!
In this book we have a major war. Each main character is fighting it in their own way. Most at the front, a group sent on a mission, a lone Dragon trying to keep the family safe, and one pulled down under. All of the favorite characters of the Dragon series make an appearance in the fight. I almost forgot about the romance because I was so involved with the story; that is the sign of a good book.
