I took a chance on the Broil King Signet 20 and I can't get over the QUALITY of this grill. I recieved the grill with no damage and assembly was not difficult.
Overall I would recommend this grill to anyone with a budget of up to $500. The quality is far higher than most competitors for the price. The Signet series comes with porcelain coated cast iron cooking grids vs. stainless steel grids on the Ducane 3100 and Weber Spirit series, so that also weighed in on my decision.
If you are questioning if a Broil King can hold its weight to a Weber, the answer to YES.
The grill has worked great, it gets much hotter then my last 40,000 BTU grill. After 6 months I am still learning that I need to not only turn the flame all the way down, but I need to also turn a burner off in order If I don't want burn't vegetables. The grill does an especially good job searing meats since it gets so hot (not quite charcoal, but close) The coated cast iron grids are reversible with one side providing more surface area, although its oddly not flat bur slightly curved. Personally, I care more about the Maillard reaction and making a good brown crust on meats then creating tidy sear marks. I am still experimenting to see which grill face provides a better crust.
This grill has a good double insulated hood, which is a huge advantage over the Weber Spirit series (great grills with a relatively thin hood). This grill has done a great job grilling pizza (on a stone) and baking Jim Lahey's bread (in a dutch oven). I use it often as a second oven for larger family gatherings.
I expect to get at least 5 years out of this grill, with many Broil King customers claiming 10 and 20 years of service. Parts won't be as easy to get as Weber, but since Lowes has re-branded this under their own "Huntington" label -- they should also carry parts if the burners need to be replaced.
The GOOD: when new, it has unbelievably good heat distribution with almost no hot spots. No more "this burger is raw and that one is 180 degrees". The grates are very very nice, easy to clean over the span of years, heavy, and deliver nice sears while draining juices away from the meat to minimize flares. The aluminum oven is a very nice feature for those of us with "weather" since it will never corrode. Also, most of the other pieces are made with some sort of nylon/plastic that is more "solid" than almost anything I've come across, and again will not corrode. The stainless steel burner tube design is a HUGE departure from the "flat hollow pan" looking burners that come on most grills, and is responsible for the nice even heat.
The BAD: I grill, a lot. Not surprisingly those wonderful stainless burner tubes are toast after 3 years. I cannot really fault them here though, and the manufacturer is replacing them for free. The igniter went after 1-2 years, but this doesn't bother me at all (bugs the hell out of my wife, though).
