2 Broke Girls: The Complete Third Season (DVD)

From Emmy® Award winner Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City), 2 Broke Girls, one of television's top comedies, continues for a third outrageous season as sarcastic Max Black (Kat Dennings) and sophisticated Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) - new best friends who met waitressing at the same Brooklyn diner - try to get their cupcake business further off the ground. At the end of season two, the girls discovered a hidden room in the diner -perfect to operate Max's Homemade Cupcakes out of. Surrounded by their offbeat, colorful "family" at the diner, plus their colorful upstairs neighbor, Sophie (Jennifer Coolidge), "smarts" plus "hearts" might just be the recipe for success for these two broke girls. Garrett Morris, Jonathan Kite and Matthew Moy also star.

I have to say that I have loved this sitcom from the beginning, however season 3 will be the last season I purchase. It started losing a bit of steam, but still quite funny, endearing and one still is pulling for the girls to succeed.

After watching season 4 unfold on television, it's clear that the writers have run out of ideas or have lost their minds. The show is now just one dirty punchline after another, with no clear direction or story. It's as if their goal is to see how far they can push to shock and repulse. I can't respect that kind of so-called "creativity". Broke went Bust!

Fun (even though somewhat too naughty for my tastes) characters. It's great to see Garrett Morris getting a regular gig and he is as funny as ever. I've always liked him!

The writers have ruined this show! or just ran out of ideas to make it interesting. I used to be a huge fan of the first and second seasons, then came third season and my fondness just jumped out of the window. Where's the magic? Where's the humour? I think the creators of the show has swayed from it's original premise that now it became a shell of it's old self.

The plot lines are so ridiculous and utterly boring this season they just make me have ADD. Max going to pastry school that the 2 broke girls can't afford as usual, but Caroline offers to work in exchange for the incredible sum of fees! She never does any working, instead falls head over heels with Chef Nicolas the owner of the pastry school who happens to be married, almost all episodes out so far are dedicated to their interaction; I can sum it up in a couple of sentences;

Caroline: Chef Nicolas you're so hot but you're also married I can never date a married man! Chef Nicolas: It's okay, me and my wife have an open marriage we can sleep with whoever we want to, besides she's in France *stereotypical much* Caroline: NO, I shall not sleep with you even if I want to! Leave your wife first. Chef Nicolas: Okay, I'll break up with her if that means having a chance with you even though I don't really know you that well.. Caroline: You can't break up with your wife! I can't ruin your marriage.

Boring or what? If you think Caroline's romantic interest was repetitive then Max's even worse! She's dating Deke a guy from her pastry class who's a billionaire and lives in a dumpster? Cause he's a hippie?

This is one of my favorite shows! I tried watching it when it first came out but I could never remember to watch it and kept forgetting to record it. I finally forgot about it. I came across the show again in reruns and fell in love with it again. I tried recording the reruns but wasn't able to watch the show in order so I purchased the seasons up until current to watch on my Amazon Fire Stick.

This show isn't for everyone. The humor can be pretty dark at times. The humor can also be offensive to overly sensitive people. Yes, they make some jokes based on race, sexual orientation, religion, and anything else that can be made fun but it's not over the top and they make fun of everyone, not just specific groups.

The story line is about 2 young girls living day to day. Both girls are from two different walks of life. They each were raised in different environment and come together by fate... or well TV entertainment fate. Carolyn was raised by her father who was rich but it turns out he was stealing from people through a Ponzi scheme. He was arrested and Carolyn lost everything and everyone. Carolyn is very optimistic and upbeat. Max was raised by her mom and never knew her dad. Her mom was a bad mother. Max is used to disappointment and being in debt. Carolyn put in an application at a diner that Max worked at and their friendship started from there.

Carolyn discovers that Max bakes amazing cupcakes. Carolyn, being her optimistic self, comes up with a business plan for them. Carolyn went to Wharten and studied business. She estimates how much money they need to start their business and their attempts to reach that goal start.

Each episode they're trying to make money while facing emergencies that come up.

This show is funny and edgy, but also good hearted and sweet! That is all I wanted to say but it says I need more words!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this show!! And even better, (spoiler alert!) there's an additional character that is THE best part of this season! I watch this season over and over again just to see that character. Great banter with the other characters, a perfect blend of sass and humor!

As for the quality, it's just a regular DVD, no blu-ray option for any seasons after season 1, so what do you expect. As good of a quality as DVD can get :)

All in all, a great buy for me!

I have 4 seasons on DVD of this show and no matter how stressed out or down I get, this show never fails to make me laugh. Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs are a perfect comedy duo. They play off each other(even off the show in interviews, they just have natural chemistry) . I honestly don't have a favorite broke girl. The rest of the cast are also irreplaceable. Max, Caroline, Earl, Oleg, Sophie and Han are as funny as they are charming, Every episode they get one good laugh out of you before the opening credits even start. I can't believe they're on their fifth year. Going stronger than ever.
