I must admit, however, that I found some parts of the book painfully difficult to read based on its abusive content concerning physical violence and child endangerment. One could surmise that these controversial elements are what actually add to the the book's sublime storyline. Be that as it may, for me personally, stories like these possess a macabre, somber element that creates an uneasiness in me. The other issue I have is that the book ends with a cliffhanger (and I simply abhor books with this type of ending). Nevertheless, and personal peeves aside, the book is still a very worthy and enjoyable read.
The story is about the plight of several women who are inadvertently connected to a corrupt senator, and the consequences thereof. (Commenting any further than this may present the reader with a spoiler or two!) Excellent job Dr. Funk and Ms. Paltrowitz!
I could not put it down. Not only was it a delightful confection but the author manages again to give us part fiction, part nostalgic thriller with her mixture of what she coins her imagery as "PHOTO INSIGHTS"
Broken by Birth defines the cause and effect of the mind and development of a psychopath. The photography presents a novel way of taking the reader on this seamless journey....... BRILLIANT
