Danger is always around the corner so expect action, funny lines from Jessa and the Compass brothers coming to the rescue. Great writing with amazing dialogue! The scenes perfectly flowed from one to another which made it hard to put the book down once you started reading it. I love the growth we see in all the characters especially in Mischa who was very insecure in previous books. I would recommend reading the Supernatural Prison series before reading Broken Compass to understand this love story better.
Broken Compass is definitely a must read!
Important note to readers: This is a spin off series. In order to enjoy Broken Compass you will need to start at the beginning with Dragon Marked Book 1 of The Supernatural Prison Trilogy.
I was wary of Mischa's character and I even did a little groan when I heard "Broken Compass" was going to be a dual point-of-view work between her, and Maximus. But, I knew Jaymin could pull it off and she did. By the middle of the book I'd completely fallen in love with her. Keep in mind, there are usually really good reasons why people (even supe people!) do the things they do. Mischa comes into her own in this novel and she's utterly relateable, enviable even and likable. There were portions I actually straight-up ugly cried because of some similar life-experiences we shared and I felt just so damned awful for her.
Maximus. What on Earth can I say about him? My favorite of the quads was definitely Braxton, but Max is delectable in his own way...and he doesn't disappoint here. If you aren't careful he might just become your new favorite Quad.
There is further world building and some new scenes that blew my mind. The Quads also grow further in their powers and come into their own. It's truly hard to pick a favorite; they're all so intriguing. There's plenty of romance, some epic battles and even a little sexy-time truly giving this tale a little bit of everything.
Broken Compass is a continuation of the 'Supernatural Prison' series and it's probably wise to read the others first but it is a stand-alone essentially and has a generally satisfying conclusion. NO cliffhangers. You probably could read this alone if you wanted to; there's enough background information that you wouldn't be totally lost.
It's a really good read; it's #1 for a reason: it really is just that good. Eve's talent continues to grow over the years. If you liked Supernatural Prison, you will LOVE this, even if you were skeptic of Mischa.

Cover: I like it
Well, we get to see more of the Compasses and I am glad. I didn’t like it as much as the previous three books.
I still had fun getting to know Mischa, she was now evolving, becoming more herself than the girl who got scared at everything.
Maximus was not the same as in the previous books but his alpha possessive controlling nature went up to levels beyond this realm. And he was willing to do everything right for Mischa and his baby.
Kirstoff is managing to bring more pain and trouble to the Compasses and Mischa and Jessa, especially now that they are pregnant. Those babies are supposed to be very special, so naturally, everyone wants them for their own nasty purposes.
It was a fun ride and I loved reading the book.
