About the Author

Jennifer Cox is a native of Dallas, Texas. She is married to Henry Cox and together they have four children and four grandchildren. As a representative of The National Kidney Foundation of North Texas and Southwest Transplant Alliance (a local organ bank), she has traveled the U.S., Europe and Central America carrying the message of healthy living and the importance of organ donation. Jennifer has also spoken in many venues including churches, companies, sororities, hospitals and fundraisers. Her efforts have been highlighted in Essence Magazine, Heart and Soul, and other magazines and newspapers. Jennifer was faced with the task of caring for her daughter who was diagnosed with lupus at age five, therefore, she has 20 years of experience caring for a chronically ill child. In 2000, she received the Status of Women Award from Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. for community service. In 2009, she received the Patient of the Year award from Methodist Medical Center of Dallas, for dedicated service and community service.
