There are few novels that I enjoyed as much as this one. Broken Dolls is set in the telepathic clans world made famous by author B.R. Kingsolver, and introduces us to not so distant relative of the clans Rhiannon Kendrick, a woman of many varied talents. We are also reunited with several old friends from the telepathic clans series, and meet new friends and enemies. The story takes readers around the globe in the hunt for a missing young succubus who has gotten wrapped up in a human smuggling ring. It is a novel full of outrageous adventure and incredible heartfelt emotion. As I finished the last sentence of this wonderful book, the only thing I could think was, more, please?
Rhiannon Kendrick is one of the best private investigators around. Given her talents as a telepath are nearly unrivaled, she utilizes those talents to track down those she is hired to find. A call from the Lord of the Irish Telepathic Clan has her on edge. It seems one of his young family members, Myrna, has been kidnapped. Rhiannon has been asked to find her and bring her home. Within days of launching her investigation, Rhiannon knows this case is much larger than just one girl. It's also much more than a simple kidnapping. Myrna has been sold. So have many other young telepathic girls. Rhiannon is determined to put a stop to this terrible practice once and for all. As the case gets more complex, Rhiannon isn't sure who she can trust except herself, and knows that this case could cost her, and Myrna, their lives if they aren't careful. Who can they trust? Will Rhiannon find Myrna in time, and what's really going on with her? This is a mission not to be missed.
