This book is the first in a series that has people very split on whether they like it or not. You will see a lot of very positive reviews, and a lot of REALLY negative reviews. I understand both sides because this book gives you a little bit of everything. You have to understand that even with a good storyline, this book is erotica. You will get 3 to 5 page long sex scenes at several points in the book. If that bothers you, and you can't just skim through the sex scenes to get back to the storyline, then DON'T buy it! They are not tame sex scenes either. The language is graphic, the action is very descriptive, and the author does not hold back.

However, if you like erotica, or can even deal with skimming the sex scenes (like I do) I think the storyline itself is actually pretty decent. You have to understand that the characters in this series are all very over the top. Each of them has really strong personalities, and even stronger voices. So you don't get a smooth, even ride through this story. You have ups and downs, big misunderstandings, overly protective male characters, and a family who is kind of all up in each others business. But just keep reading! Let yourself get carried away by the storyline of this seemingly broken man, figuring out that he can actually love one person, and can actually let himself be happy. Warning though, even with the HEA at the end, you will still want to continue to read the series. Each family member gets their own book, so there is something like 6 books in this series and if you are at all like me (who wants to see things come to a complete, definite end), you will end up having to buy the other books. Don't start, if you aren't ready for the commitment!

In Broken Hart, Sabrina Tyler is Dante Hart's Executive Assistant. They quickly become bestfriends to the point where their families have Sunday dinners together. Sabrina is extremely attracted to Dante, but doesn't want to ruin their friendship or work relationship.

This novel is written in the relatively new and popular sub-genre called Erotic Romance. Although there are lots and lots of hot, delicious, make-you-wet sex scenes, there is also a very romantic love story. Ella Fox did a fantastic job developing her characters to the point where you can feel an emotional attachment to them. Some scenes in this novel actually made me cry. It has been a very long time since a story was good enough to make me cry. That's the sign of a good writer.

There were a few typos and grammatical inconsistencies, but these are minor and easily overlooked as you get drawn into the story and its characters. The story is written through Sabrina's point of view. The first person POV written in the present tense is often very difficult to accomplish. Although there were some tense inconsistencies, Ella still managed to keep the story flowing.

Broken Hart was Ella's debut novel. The second novel in the series will be about Damien - Dante's brother. If the first novel is any indication, I will also be staying up late at night reading Damien's story. I can't wait to read it. I think that Ella Fox will have a bright future as a writer. My rating: 4.5

I am an avid reader of romance and erotica. This book was HOT!!! This is not a book for the timid reader. When I read this book my imagination was whisked away to a very naughty place and I loved it!! Read this book if you like something steamy or if you need some good bedroom ideas!!!

I picked this up not only because it was free but because it reminded me so much of Fifty Shades of Grey, but sounded much better.

So far, Sabrina seems to be a bit of a Mary Sue, her parents died, but they left enough money for her and her sister to pay off the mortgage of what I assume is a large house, as well as put Sabrina through school and her sister through the first two years of school.

Sabrina takes a job as an Admin Assistant for a man that is apparently very difficult to work with as he's been through seven assistants before Sabrina. But Sabrina has been working with Dante Hart for over a year and has had no problems with him. She is immediately attracted to the man an he is described as "stunningly" handsome.

I do like that Sabrina seems to be a strong woman, she' s not some whimpy Anna Steele.

Although Sabrina does have the same reaction to Dante that Anna does to Christian. She melts at the mere touch of him, and her "sex tingled and clenched". I give props to Sabrina though, she's a strong woman, and manages to keep her composure. Shows how mature she is, and has actual sexual experience.

Unlike with FSoG, they characters in Broken Hart are very likable. We're given some detail about Dante's family life, and what his childhood was like, and how the company got to be so successful. Although the details are a bit vague, it is believable.

I like that Dante and Sabrina have an actual friendship, and chemistry together. So different the FSoG. I know I'm comparing the two a lot, but thats what this felt like to me when I read the summary. Another version of Fifty Shades, but perhaps better written, and so far I am not disappointed, this is so much better then Fifty Shades.

I'm really loving Sabrina's character.
