Great story and acting, more sexual dialog than expected, but it worked ok, we really enjoyed it!

Aside from the fact that Dacre is quite possible the most beautiful man alive, ever!, this is a very happy, hopeful, wonderful film. I myself have never kept anything from an ex, bad juju, but I understand the premise. Just enjoy, laugh, tear up, and learn.
Dacre, if you read this, thank you, and I am here, when you are ready!!!

I loved this movie and it was pretty cute. The only thing I thought was excessive and unnecessary was the liberal undertones in it. If you watch it, you’ll see what I mean. By the end it was actually irritating - for that I’m taking one star. Know your audience.

Originally watched it for Phillipa Soo but after watching it, I got hooked on the plot! Amazing movie.

I LOVE this movie!! I know I am going to oversell this to many people, but it is a risk I take to write my honest review.

Geraldine is a treasure. Her comedic timing is perfection, and she portrays Lucy with sensitivity, grace, and relatability. Aside from being gorgeous, Geraldine creates Lucy to be likable and vulenerable. I hope she is signed on to more movies that demonstrate her range because she has a fan for life.

Dacre...what can I say about his Adolpho-Nick? I came into this movie knowing Dacre as Billy, the BA from Stranger Things, and left wanting to watch every movie, tv show, and interview he's ever done (and I'm well on my way in doing this). His embodiment of the shy, introverted Nick compliments Geradine's out-going Lucy masterfully. These two have chemistry, and whenever they interact, my heart danced. Is it possible that these two characters could become real and befriend me so I can continue to live vicariously through them?

Is the movie itself perfect? No - there's an unrealistic portrayal of what NYC is and what individuals can afford (although the curtain divider between rooms was a nice touch), and when Lucy needs her friends, they randomly throw Dorito-like tortilla chips and a bottle of ranch dresshing at her whilst swaddling her in a blanket. The fact that they could perfectly place Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind on Lucy's ever-growing pile of "comforts" screams staged, BUT those small details did not derail from the chemistry between all the characters.

Of course, the leads are great, but the supporting cast reminds me that in this sh*tshow of a year, friends are my greatest commodity. There is no tearing each other down, and I love that it's a multi-cultural cast without it being a big deal.

If you want to watch a light-hearted comedy with a great soundtrack and phenominal Millennial actors, give this one a try.

I saw this at the drive-in, only because I did not want to see a slasher film (other option) or one I'd already seen. I also recognized "Billy" from Stranger Things (yes, Dacre Montgomery) and the trailer looked pretty good. It's a rom-com, yes, but it had a lot of original bits and pieces to it. And Geraldine Viswanathan cracked me up! She has excellent comedic timing, and she and Dacre had great chemistry. The entire cast was great, diverse, funny, and made sense to the story. Oh, my favorite part...it is very diverse without telling you how diverse it is. I loved that! Which is how movies, TV shows, everything should be. I don't need a big shout out or over the top performance to prove a person of color, or LQBTQIA, or a different religion or culture or...you get it. These characters were just who they are and they weren't placed there for the studio to get a pat on the back, with big neon signs pointing to those accolades. So, everyone who made this movie did an excellent job of casting, writing, acting, and just made a truly cute and funny film. Which I plan to watch again because I got thee DVD/BluRay and maybe no one buys these anymore but I want to see it again and don't see it available on Netflix and I'm impatient. ENJOY!

5.0 out of 5 stars A movie I love...plus a surprise twist

I love this movie so purchasing the bluray was an easy decision. When I had watched it though previously, a few curse words had been used within the dialogue. However, when watching this bluray I noticed that all the curse words had been replaced. Only one had not been replaced, yet the word had been literally bleeped over like an episode of The Osbournes in the 2000s. Love the movie but question this decision. If anyone wants to see the original version, it is available on Netflix.
