From the Author

I write fiction but i want the emotion to be authentic and captured in the pages as i write them so i always pull from life experience. There are parts of me in all my characters. The plan for this novel was to open dark and end dark; I believe i did that. I'm not one for writing filler so you get story from start to finish. This is a roller coaster of emotions, twists and turns, i hope you brace yourself and enjoy the ride.

WTF?? Seriously? I wish someone would slap this author upside the head for that ending.

I seriously can't believe the book ended like that. If someone told me the publisher accidently published the wrong ending, I would totally believe that. I mean WTF? I don't even know how to rate this one.

You know how sometimes you read a book and you just know it's going to get mixed reviews. Others will love it while others will hate it. That's how I felt about this one. The story was actually okay for me and I had planned on rating it as a 3+ STAR read. Total guilty pleasure read. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon. But the very last page was just plain stupid. Totally. And while I hate to rate a whole book based on an ending I didn't like, the last 8 sentences were so conductive to major eye rolling that it's the only thing I can think about when writing this review. I mean come on? Seriously? Urgh!

I'll leave this one at 3 stars because I'm not sure it's fair to rate the book lower due to one page I didn't like. It's unfortunate that when I think back about this book, that ending, which was totally unnecessary and pointless, is all I'll remember.

I read the sample of this book, and i was on the edge... The characters seemed so one dimensional and shallow. But all the great reviews convinced me to buy it and it was the worst dollar i've ever spent. The main character River has so much potential, shes beautiful and has a tragic story, the perfect makings for an exceptionally memorable character. And she was, but for all the wrong reasons. Being that she was raped, you would think sex was a difficult subject for her. But she's a huge slut. Kinky sex is one thing, but this was so wrong! It started out as sexy and kinky, but Sam was mad at her so he forced her into a rough threesome?!? And she forgave him so easily. Like usually the character who has been abused grows as the story goes on, but River remained such a weak character throughout the whole story. She never stood up for herself and was taken advantage of repeatedly! She was a huge disappointment. And the author didn't give enough internal dialogue, so the lack of thought and the excessive weakness was just too much. And also the setting was really weird. when I read a story I like to imagine I could be apart of it, it's that realistic. But these characters lived on a trashy street in a trashy neighborhood. Which is realistic but do they ever leave the house to go anywhere but the garage? Do they go to the mall, or target, or walmart, or the movies? They just yell at each other, have sex, rape, forgive, and work. So not only do the characters suck ass, the story is weirdly unrealistic. And another thing that bothered me was when River was caught in the pool naked! She didn't care at all that she was exposed to a guy she hardly knew while the guy she supposedly loved was standing there and the guy she HAS to love is on a business trip!Read more ›

The story of River and Sammy. High school friends who should have been lovers but that option was taken from them both. 4 years pass and they are reunited but she belongs to another and he belongs to no one.

Trying to save her brother she lives a dead life with a man whose doesn't love and kings for the man she never had.

Secrets lies deception and murder are all going to teat her will to live and her strength to let Sammy go.

This was a great story and I loved the concept. I even loved the H and h and jasper. Hated Danny.

This book does have a lot of grammar and editing issues that if we're fixed could make this a 5 star read. I just kept skimming it in order to stop the editing issues. Some sentences didn't make sense because of the misspelled words or wrong word used. I found myself placing my own thoughts in place of the authors because I wasn't sure what was supposed to have been presented to me. I don't want to use my own thoughts in a book. I want the author to make me feel not spend my time rereading a sentence trying to figure out what it meant.

I liked some of the characters & the story was ok but there were too many holes & unbelievable parts in this book. Apparently this girl River does not have & has never had a female friend because there was never one mentioned AT ALL. The boyfriend of 4yrs can't have kids because of a childhood illness so I'm assuming they don't use birth control (or maybe I missed it, but I don't think she ever said she was on birth control) & she sleeps with the love of her life (NOT the bf), gets pregnant, & 5yrs later she realizes the baby is the boyfriend's? The sterile, couldn't get her pregnant for 4yrs boyfriend is the father & NOT the extremely fertile guy she's been having LOTS of unprotected sex with all month? Makes no sense. I liked Jasper & will probably read his story. Just too many loose ends & holes with this story. Also, the ending was completely.....just wrong. Weird. A homicidal 5yr old? A child who is in a stable, loving home & has 4 adults who love & adore him is actually a murderous devil child? How is that possible? No one saw any signs that this preschooler was a psycho until he tried to murder his mom & unborn sibling? Huh? Very strange.
