Bull is the president of Devils Dust MC and hasn't loved anyone in a long time. The last lady he loved he let slip away from him and by default chose his club over her. He could have gone and found her and bought her back but didn't. So he screwed around and didn't get attached to anyone else.
Babs is married to Locks and is his old lady. They have been in a relationship for some time now and it has now gotten to the point he treats her like garbage. He cheats on her openly and expects Babs to not say a word about his other women. Then one day he goes to far in his treatment of Babs and Bull steps in.
The relationship between Bull and Babs is awesome. She is Bulls VP's wife and old lady and is technically off limits but that doesn't stop them both from developing feelings for each other. Loved them together. If only Locks would let her go as his old lady then she could be free to be with Bull openly. However life is not that way.
This story did not go the way I had hoped. The author did not give me the ending I wanted. I know... The nerve of Forgy for not making ME happy. The title is exactly that BROKE PIECES of my heart. I get why but at the same time I wanted the happy ending for Bull and Babs. Locks did not get what he deserved either. He deserved more, much much more for his role. If or when you read this book then you will understand what I meant. I would have given this a lower rating merely because Forgy made me mad because of the turn of events that happened in this story but I couldn't do that. It was a great read. Now I need to read the other books to get the bigger story.
I love Babs she is the most amazing character. I wanted to spend more time just knowing who she was.
Love BB together!!!! I may have had some dust in my eye during some parts too.
The domino effect of one bad decision against a member from a rival club causes heartbreak and devastating loss for Bull and the club...while a traitor in their midst is outed.
A really emotional and sexy novella with a not so HEA for some and the promise of a better future for others.
**** 4 **** "never too late to open your heart" stars
Locks is a complete douche, but we knew this from the previous book. We know what he did to the club, and to Babs. But in this story, we get to see exactly what he did, from Babs point of view.
Bull, I just want to give him a hug. He really did love Babs, that's for sure. What he is now doing for Scarlett, as a way to honor Babs, is amazing. I felt so bad for him and understand why he drowned himself in booze. Thank God for Doc helping to find something to get him to start living again.
"Life gives us cards that seem unfair, unfit, giving you an unfair disadvantage to life life as you want it. But that's just it; life doesn't give a f*** what you want. You have to take those cards and see what you can make of them, be grateful for what you have and realize your hand in life could be a lot s*******. Stop thinking about the winning you could have, and make do with what you got."
Babs was such an amazing and strong woman. I am happy that Locks was killed after what he did to her. She deserved so much more. I was secretly hoping that she really didn't die and it was just faked to get her away from Locks.
Will be starting the next book now!
