There are a few major events that happen a little too quickly for me, but I can understand that Crane isn't the kind of author to dwell on something (except maybe the occasional deepening of kisses and feel of a hand on a wing).
There was a math error that drove me crazy. It's all a year later... a year after Rylie was 16, but every reference is about "16 years ago..." 16+1 does not equal 16.
I finished this book 24 hours ago and have forgotten a surprising amount. I did read it in 3 days, so it should be fresh. Read it quickly with some interest, but quickly forgot... Take that to mean what you will.
I read the sample of the 3rd book and decided I was done. Third book is.... how do I say this without a spoiler... very un-realistic, even in book fantasy faery land. I'm out on this series.
How many times did she turn on her heels? I visualize what I read, and this was so unnatural and said too many times. She also arranged her shoes by size. Why would she have different sized shoes? I also wondered why a human girl would arrange a meeting with a feary boy so far away from the home where she is a guest - in a foreign place- that she'd get lost. This turn of events seemed odd.
I was irritated because she would not admit her feelings for Kallan... I feel that she's just with Adam so she can feel normal, so she can forget that she's a fairy... But she keeps saying that she loves Adam, and doesn't want to hurt him... If she really loves Adam then she would let him go cause it's obvious that her feelings for Adam changed... Anyways, I still love her OCD...
Thumbs up for him... He's very patient with Rylie and he's discreetly trying to make Rylie admit that she has feelings for him too... He's also very hepful to Rylie and whenever she will ask him to do something, he will honor it even though it's against his wishes...
I like the first book than this one... It's just that I felt that this book focused too much on Rylie's feelings for two men, a human and a faery... Though, I did like it focused on her feelings, it was just too much... Her confusion was all over the place and she can't choose between them... And I also like the story because Rylie met 'him'... It may not have been the best of meetings but in the end it all worked out, it's just ended sadly...
And her best friend!!! Something was really fishy about her from the start of the confession... I felt like she was going to use Rylie's confession to destroy her, though she did not do that... If she had done that, I would really hate her...
And the result of the `battle' was something I could not believe... He should have experienced something more brutal than that!!! He just can't find an easy way out!!! Grr...
And lastly, I want to kick the butts of those faeries... They are tied too much on their norms...Read more ›
The play out of Rylie's feeling for discovering her true self, trying to keep her romance alive with Adam, and fighting her attraction to Kallan, make for a great story. I am not going to give anything away, so I will simply say: "read this book if you like this genre. It is GOOD!" Enjoy!

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first. It felt rushed but was a good book also. It's about Rylie deciding where she belongs, she's becoming more of a fairie in this book... Read morePublished 8 days ago by Katie Perry Rogers

Wonderful second book in the series. It was different than the first, with a new focus, but I still loved it just as much.Published 3 months ago by Amazon Customer
With twists and turns, a lot of growing, some sad points, some new discoveries.
I loved the way the characters grow as the story continues. Read more
I LOVE this series. The characters are to die for, and it's one I could read again. Before this series, I had never been interested in reading about fae. This has hooked me.Published 8 months ago by Keri Reames
