This is the thing I HATE about trilogy, having to wait for the next one. I really got into this book and can't wait for the next one. But I'm a little sad that I have to wait. It would be so much better to release all at once. But understand it takes time to write and publish books especially good ones. I love this story love the Cole and Savi. Can't wait to continue their adventure.

I wanted to love this book as much as the other reviewers seemed to, but there were just too many problems for me to say I enjoyed it.

The story itself is fantastic--a premise I immediately found myself involved in. Savannah is kidnapped and held for months by a vicious group, but she doesn't know why or for how long. A rescue comes unexpectedly and she is brought back to the U.S. to a secure compound in rural Montana. From then on, I had lots of questions. Why was Cole called Logan at the beginning, but once he asks her to call him Cole, no one uses the name Logan any more? How could men in Special Forces risk becoming known in town? Savannah has an alias to use when in town--Nicole--but everyone calls her Savannah except for a couple of times. Doesn't the hovering waiter notice this, not to mention people at other tables?

The list goes on, but you get the picture. I'm a big fan of stories about SEALS, Green Berets, etc., but never have I read one where the characters behave so recklessly. The last straw was the lack of editing. There are run-on sentences, sentence fragments, misused grammar and punctuation, or words out of order.

"I just lay there" (should be "lie") "I not sure", " Hello again, Savannah, you look lovely." "Thank you for doing this, this is so kind of you." The plot was so interesting, though, that I read until the end. The end, however, is really just the tease for the next book in the series. I am NOT a fan of abrupt, cliff-hanger endings.

I'm just disappointed in the mistakes and errors that mar this story. There was so much that could have been done with it!

I wish I could give this whole series more than just 5 stars. This whole trilogy was incredible. The depths of the characters were so well written. I think I read the whole trilogy in 3-4 days and that's saying a lot considering I have 4 kids. I was so consumed by the action and love that I think I cried at least once in each book. I can't wait to read more from this author. Well done J.L. Drake. I would recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a love story with an action twist. Just outstanding!!!

First if all I'm still reading this book, and will update with my full review once done. What is driving my bat shizz crazy right now is how when it's the hero's point of view it bounces back from 3 person to first. One sentence it's "he" and referring to the hero by his name. And the next sentence it's "i" . It almost feels like there is a different writer writing the female point of view, which is amazing, and another is writing the male point if view. The story line is great, but the toggling between 3rd and first person is annoying.

JL Drake has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Her characters are incredible. The storyline is amazing. What an awesome Trilogy. Be prepared though, have the second book ready because you won't want to take a break after finishing the first! So good!!

One of my favorite series! The love story of Savi and Cole is one for the ages. To people cycling through life one trying to stear clear of any attention the other risking their life for the sake of another. These two opposites are drawn together and the result is fireworks. A love story out of tragity finds one a place to call home and the other the ability to have someone to love...can not wait for more stories about Shadows and the men of Blackstone!

J: This is or could have been a very good story, but it moves along too slowly for me with lots of day to day drama. It ends with a major cliff hanger which requires you to go on to book #2 and probably #3 in order to complete the story. I DON'T LIKE CLIFF HANGERS!!! Fortunately the books in the series are not costly. Maybe I will go ahead with the second book?

This is a book that keeps you engrossed from beginning to end. Savannah lives through shell for months. The relationships that are built between everyone is amazing. It ends with one heck of cliffhanger but thank goodness book 2 is out.

Ms. Drake is a superb storyteller! It's been a long time since I've been so invested in a book. I laughed, cried, worried, hurt, swooned and fell in love right along with Savannah and Cole. I love a good romance, but so many of them are so ridiculous or the same story retold. Broken actually tells a story with substance and the love scenes are sexy and full of love and passion. I can't recommend Broken enough and am on pins and needles waiting for Shattered! I know Ms. Drake will deliver another fabulous novel!

It was that good....even better!!!!! I loved this book....I can not wait until the second book comes out( needed it about an hour ago when I finished the first book). This novel actually felt like a novel, unlike these short novellas that are being called full length books. Could not put this book down! Yeah there was a cliffhanger, but it was a darn good one and well worth the suspense. If you are the fence buying this book, don't be! You will fall in love with ALL the characters!
