I bought this about a month ago and was happy to see that this was very DIY friendly. All I had to do was turn off the water supply, take off the seat, and connect a few things. Right? Not exactly. It turns out that if you have a solid metal pipe connecting from the wall to your toilet that you need to replace that entire pipe with a flexible hose that isn't included with this product.

Also, as soon as you open the box there is a small letter inside asking for your feedback. It turns out if you write a review and send them an email of proof, they will enter you in a sweepstake for one of their products costing up to $650. They ask you to be "open and honest", but on the front of the card they ask for your 5-star feedback. I'm sure they will just say "we value feedback a lot and it means 5 stars to us to hear from our customers" but in reality it seems very very close to paying customers for good reviews.

I find it especially irritating because on the entire page here on Amazon, I found no mention of the fact that I would have to buy additional piping if my toilet was built this way. In fact, I find this deceptive given the fact that the description says, verbatim, "Everything you need for a standard installation is included, fits under your existing toilet seat and installs in minutes."

TL;DR Doesn't come included with a hose replacement if your toilet has a solid metal hose to begin with. You have to buy one separately. This only works if your toilet already has an original flexible hose from the wall to the toilet. Also, they seem to be offering potential money for "open and honest" reviews, but seems to be fishy and suggesting positive reviews.

Good adjustable-nozzle bidet, with an overly sharp jet that can be fixed

TIP: If you find yourself getting unwanted enemas, enlarge the center nozzle hole with a 1/16" (or smaller) drill bit.

I bought this bidet to replace my trusty Hyundai HDBM-100 which, after nearly 10 years of service, broke in a recent move. To my surprise, most current offerings were inferior: no adjustable nozzles, and threaded (rather than push-to-connect) fittings. While I wasn't able to find a new bidet with quick-connect fittings, this Brondell does have an adjustable nozzle that's nearly identical to my old Hyundai's—in fact, the whole bidet appears to be a rebranded and slightly updated version of it.

Installation was easy and the bidet works great, but I found the center jet way too sharp and needle-like. If I turned up the pressure to the level required for effective cleaning, I'd get an enema every time. I had the same problem with my old HDBM-100, which I fixed by enlarging the center hole in the nozzle with a 1/16" drill bit. The same hack worked on the Brondell unit. Now I can turn it up as much as I like, without getting stabbed in the ass. Yay!

My only other complaint is the valve knob. Being split between cleaning and self-cleaning, you get a very small turning radius (under 90 degrees) for adjusting the water pressure, which doesn't allow for much precision since small turns can have a huge effect. Having the cleaning (i.e. most-used) function on the right side also means you turn clockwise to open and counterclockwise to close, which is the opposite of a faucet.

Flawed Design

This bidet gets a few stars for asthetics, and "brass" inner workings, which drew me to this initially. Unfortunately, it has a huge design flaw in that the water adjustment dial has NO "click" to let you know when the water is shut off...the only way to know for sure is visually...but I'm not going to stand looking into the toilet after every use to watch for a leak. Even a very slow leak from the bidet nozzle can waste thousands of gallons of precious water, not to mention the cost I'll have to pay for the wasted water. Another thing is, the bidet hose will not thread onto our fittings, the hose end is too small! We have American Standard toilets, and U.S. standard fittings. I purchased 3 of these bidets, and was very excited to receive them until we tried to use it. All 3 are being returned...what a shame.

A Fresh Clean Feeling Every time!

For many years I thought a bidet was a gimmick. My wife had mentioned she thought a bidet would worthwhile. After looking online I purchased 2 of the FreshSpa Easy bidet units by Brondell. They arrived quickly and I installed as soon as they arrived. Very quick clear and easy installation instructions. They only "catch" I ran into was our toilet seat bolts were just long enough for the seat so adding the bidet height made them too short to use. I had longer bolts in my miscellaneous nuts and bolts drawer which worked out well.

The first test run made believers of bidets in both of us! The clean fresh feeling like just after a shower was amazing. Now I will have to put these in our other 2 bathrooms! I am completely convinced of their efficiency and it will cut down on toilet paper usage. Our units only have 1 attachment to the cold water valve but the water temperature is not a shocking cold felling as you might expect. More like when you chew a piece of peppermint gum and feel the freshness.

Heartily recommend the FreshSpa Easy bidet to anyone looking for an affordable, easy to install bidet attachment. You won't be sorry for the small investment in extraordinary cleanliness.

Works well - nozzle adjustment a bit tight

According to the instructions, this nozzle should have 3 positions, and adjustments can be made by gently pulling the nozzle forward and backward. I tried gently, more firmly, and gave up. I was afraid of breaking it. I contacted customer service and received a reply within 90 minutes telling me that when the unit is new, the nozzle can be tight, but to apply more force (assuring me it wouldn't break). I did and was able to access the other positions.

Excellent product especially that it is metal connections and not plastic. We did not have to do anything but connect the water lines and toilet seat connections. Everything is included, it took only about 5 min. Instructions very good and also available on the internet.

Decrease in quality

We have being using two sets of Brondell for three years. Finally the nozzle of one of them has broken. Since we are very happy with them and easiness of the installation, all I will have to do is remove the hose from the old one and fix it to the new one and that`s it. So, I decided to go with Brondell same as before and ordered a new one. I must thank them because it arrived on time as they promised.
But, on the other hand when I started to install the unit, the surprises start to appear one after the other...
First of all, the over all dimensions are little bit changed so I can only install the unit by scarifying first nozzle position. This is a problem because it means we can only adjust it to two of the position.
After putting the unit into the position the second and the most annoying surprise came: The size of the hose is also reduced and the hose does not fit the new one. This means I need to remove all the current items. More over, it is more weak than the previous one so the hose is easily wrinkled during installation.
Then I realized that the quality of the T pieces also has became compromised: the old one was die casted and Ni coated but the new one is just machined brass. Plus the dust of the machining is not cleaned thoroughly. Last but not least: the sealing tape provided along with the set is the worst sealing tape I have seen ever, I needed to buy a new one...
As a result of these problems I have listed, we will need to buy another new one in near future and it will most definitely not to be a Brondell model or product...

This was an alternative to installing a full size bidet.
After traveling in Europe we decided a bidet would be a good thing to have.

The installation was fairly easy (for a non-plumber like me). Mind you we did have the bathroom renovated 2 years ago so the plumbing was fairly new with the correct thread sizes in place. Once installed we tested the nozzle position for the best operation. (Why did the installer have to be the guinea pig? LOL).

Anyways it does what it is supposed to and that's what counts.
Suggestion: if they would have a model where the control sits under the left hand instead of the right?
