Does not use standard plumbing fittings
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 24, 2020
Although the unit does come with everything needed to install, the braided hose for it's water supply does not use standard 3/8" compression fittings. Instead of installing a standard T-adapter at the water supply cutoff, they intend for you to install a non-standard T-Adapter to the supply hookup, at the bottom of the toilet pet-cock stem. This location is often very difficult to get to and they expect you to install a threaded brass fitting onto the plastic threads of the pet-cock assembly. Not a great idea, especially when it can only be reached with one hand and only after taking circus contortionist training to do so! Anyway, I managed to strip out these threads and had to replace the entire pet cock assembly in the toilet, which turned a 20 min. job into an all day nightmare. I did manage to finally get this bastard fitting installed and the unit itself works quite well. However, I wonder what I'm supposed to do should the hose ever start leaking, as there does not appear to be any kind of replacement readily available or an adapter hose or reducer to hook up to a standard fitting. I can't even figure out exactly what size this thing is or whether it is metric or SAE! It would have been much easier overall if they would have just used standard plumbing fittings and give folks some flexibility in the installation. Frankly, I just don't get it and will be looking elsewhere in the future!
