been over 300 Miles....
on January 8, 2014
Let me begin by explaining that I am a frequent runner. I go through about 3 pairs per year and that's pushing it to the limit. I have always been an asics girl and I do love their shoes. However, I would wear down asics so fast. The recommendation is to put 300 to 500 Miles on your running shoes. By about 250 in asics my feet/shins/Achilles would start hurting and only get worse. Therefore, enter brooks ravenna...
-durable. Over 300 Miles and no foot fatigue
-not to much cushion...but just enough. *first they felt super weird, but not uncomfortable. I later read that they have cushioning pods which adjust to your feet through the use of a high viscosity liquid. It adjusts itself with each step you take to improve your comfort.
-helped my foot placement. I have some funky way I run with my right foot and this is the only shoe so far that has helped my form
-heavy and bulky. Feet feel like lead on long runs. (But don't they always)
-not build for speed work or FAST short races. Anything over 10k is fine. I struggle a bit on the track bc of heavy/bulky but I did manage sub 19:00 for a 5K in these babies!
-small toe box. I went up a size bc I like my little piggies to have plenty of room. My regular size "fit" though
I would def order/buy another pair, just wish they were lighter.
