Otherwise, they're great. They're heavy enough I'm not too worried about them getting broken, and they look really nice. Also, you can say "I've only had one glass of wine!" while drinking half the bottle, and not be lying.
If you're looking to save money on high quality cut glass, I think a better option is to buy Tipperary crystal or Cork crystal or Galway crystal - handmade cut glass that lacks the Waterford name, rather than buying something with the name that's not the real thing.
The glasses are as pictured, but it's hard to tell how simple they actually are from the photograph. Personally I prefer a more intricate cut glass pattern.
I received these as a gift and would not have bought them myself. I will likely return them. Again, the price is low, but you get what you pay for in this case, and likely a bit less since you're also paying for the "waterford" name.
Looks like Amazon put this review on ALL the Brookside Marquis goblets & glasses we purchased. It was meant ONLY for the red wine/all purpose goblets. The white wine goblets were a very nice size. We intentionally purchased the over-sized old fashion glasses, and you know when you are holding a drink in those-- very heavy! The iced beverages would be perfect, also, but for the fact that the red wine goblets are bigger than they are.
Regrettably much of the Brookside line has been discontinued--martini glasses are hard to come by and very pricy and high ball glasses are priced like real Waterford (not Marquis). So if you want everything to match, this is not the design to choose. But if you want an impressive set of cut crystal to set your table with, $10 per stem for Brookside is a steal.
They chip very easy! Do not recommend for every day use.
For the price , a more economical throw away glass set can be found..
If you do entertaining, but aren't going to be as formal as having a red wine, white wine and water or tea glass, these are the way to go.
BTW: the quality of these glasses is consistently quite good. In 30 glasses, there are no casting or mold lines on the glasses - something I've seen with even some of the better Waterford stemware.

We use these for our everyday glasses - and we put them out in the dining room for water when we have company. Heavy crystal, shiny, modernish, and every affordable. Love these.Published 4 months ago by Jen
