It says "Dark Chocolate" and so I simply assumed that sugar wouldn't be the main ingredient. But it is. Extremely sweet. If you like chocolate-flavored sugar, then just stick with Hershey's. Oh wait, "Brookside" is a subsidiary of Hershey's.

Flavor Name: Acai and Blueberry
The advertising reads (see above) "Dark Chocolate Covered Acai and Blueberries" but the Package advertising (here only legible in very small print) reads "Dark Chocolate Açai & Blueberry FLAVORS (my capitalization), subtitle "Soft fruit FLAVORED (my CAPS) centers covered in smooth dark chocolate. On the back of the package: BROOKSIDE chocolatiers have artfully blended exotic fruit juices and flavors....The soft sweetened centers dipped in luscious dark chocolate.... The ingredient list: Dark chocolate: (...), sugar, corn syrup, FRUIT JUICE CONCENTRATE (pomegranate, apple, raspberry, blueberry, cranberry; lemon JUICE CONCENTRATES), deionized APPLE JUICE CONCENTRATE, natural FLAVORS; AÇAI PUREE CONCENTRATE. I omitted the many additional chemicals). Under the Nutrition Facts, we find that a serving size is 40 grams, of which 23 g (that's more than half) are SUGAR. Brookside is a division of Hershey Canada. In the past, I did not count Hershey's as a company that did false advertising, BUT THIS IS QUITE CLEARLY FALSE ADVERTISING, no berries, a bit of pulp concentrate, juice concentrate, the rest sugar and chemicals.

The stuff actually does not taste bad, no wonder with all the sugar but I had bought it with a good conscience because I thought I'd be eating a few blueberries & acai with chocolate, not this chemical cauldron!

It's not worth returning although this was not exactly cheap stuff. Would I buy it again? DEFINITELY NO.

Also, there is a warning on the package that the product is manufactured on the same equipment that processes tree nuts. While I have no such allergies, some people may want to know that fact in advance, i.e. before buying, because it's hidden on the back (it is not the smallest print though.Read more ›

These Acai and Blueberry Dark Chocolates try to come across as a healthy treat, but honestly they taste like a chocolate covered jelly bean. I will admit that I saw the words "Acai," Blueberry" and "Dark Chocolate" and assumed that this was a healthy indulgence, and that is my fault. The centers are not actually fruit, although they contain some fruit juice. They are instead a sugary jelly candy. The dark chocolate is also very sweet and sugary, so it's not exactly healthy. While I found these to be entirely too sweet, my neighbor thought that they were from sugar heaven, so I sent them home with her,. These are not a bad product, in fact they are quite tasty, just not that good for you.

I received a sample bag of these with my order for York Peppermint Patties. When I tasted the first one I told my husband I wasn't that impressed. First of all I had expected pieces of fruit in the center...not juice concentrate. They grow on you though. By the time I had finished the small sample bag, I changed my mind. They're pretty darn good. For those who haven't tried them, they're like fruit juice gummy bears covered with dark chocolate. The "fruit center" is a mixture of fruit juice concentrate in a gel like form. Think they're a little pricey but they're good. I was given the Acai Blueberry flavor.

Frustratingly Misleading!!!!
The words - dark chocolate & pomegranate makes you think, rich, exclusive and healthy. Waow!
The picture - shows sumptuous fruit and decadent rough blocks of dark, anti-oxidant rich chocolate! Ooh my imagination gives my ideas of artisanal care...

Hmph. Then you get a serving size of reality....
It's like a soft M&M with a gummie-candy center. No fruit. Brookside? Why not call it "industrial scale factory-ville" Itsa sarcastic package! Why show the fruit?! Why didn't they show the little gummy centers?
I ordinarily won't and don't care that much about food - I would devour a bag of Doritos without care for bogus, subsidised, fractionally distilled corn laced ingredients and every other tasty man-made food tech. Because I know what Doritos is about.

This pack should be bright yellow and blue with cartoon butterflies on a big-eyed manga princess or something.
5 stars because it tastes good - 1 star because it is deceptive. Every time I look at the pack I get irritated now, since I cannot trust Brookside, Hershey Canada. What else will be "misrepresented"?
Is it really even dark chocolate?

Its good but I expected to get more chocolate contents. Inside of it there was gelatine like thing mixed with pomegranate extracts. Its ok. u can choose to taste it.

I wish I had something bad to say but must confess. These are addictive. Delicious chocolate, not too sweet with just the right amount of tart from the filling. I don't like that they have blueberry "flavors". Makes me feel like these are full of junk and chemicals so for that I say, if you have not tasted them, don't because you WILL like them.

These sound like blueberries dipped in chocolate. No such item. These are little squishy jelly balls made out of fruit puree concentrates, then coated in chocolate. They are high in sugar and calories, and sickly sweet and gooey. Not my type.
