Works with a variety of tapes from the long-lasting laminated TZe Series.
TZe tapes are protected by a thin, clear film to withstand water, grease, fading, abrasion, heat, and cold, making them ideal for indoor and outdoor applications. TZe labels feature a split back design for hassle-free application. Use one of our specialty tapes to create flexible cable and wire identification labels or create labels with acid-free adhesive(2) that are safe for scrapbooking and other photo-sensitive materials. There’s even non-laminated fabric iron-on tape for labeling clothing and more.

For those talking about wasted tape, I saw what you meant on the first label printed. To easily resolved this problem:
1. Click function button, scroll to “CUT OPTION” and click “chain” (my favorite).
If making multiple labels, click “small margin” if you’re only printing one or 2.
On “TAB LENGTH”, scroll down until it reaches “0.0” if you don’t want any excess on the side.
And last but not least, after you have made your desired label go to “LENGTH” and keep reducing it until it pops up and says “letters to big, long, etc”, and then click it one up until is accepted, doing it this way assures me that I have it as compacted as possible to avoid any waste whatsoever. Unless I have a specific length that I want and I design my letter size, shape (font), frames etc to fit within the boundaries.
Once you have the settings how you like it, click the “FN” button, scroll to the bottom and click on “SAVE” and store the settings on the number you choose because otherwise you have to repeat the same process each time you create a new label.
I haven’t had any waste whatsoever since I made these adjustments.
My only complaint is that the Automatic Settings go to the highest margin, tabs and length setting, which undoubtedly is to sell more product.
Hope this easy solution helps resolve the problems you’ve been encountering.
I'm getting comic book collection organized (>20,000 comics) , and slapping a label on a divider just makes everything look that much extra awesome.
BTW, I bought some 3rd party JARBO labels. A 4 pack of White and a 5 pack with multiple colors. The colors are reflected on the screen just like the official label tapes are. I was constantly swapping between three labels: Thick white labels that came with the printer, thin white ones, and a color. The only problems I had is the red label tape got jammed up, but it was over half used up by that time. I've used 3 white ones and half the yellow w/o any problems. Considering how inexpensive the JARBO labels are, I recommend that you look into them. They are the perfect complement to the printer. The only downside is you have LOTS of label tape, so you'll go around looking for MORE THINGS to label.
I spent an afternoon hunting up every power supply/adapter in the house and slapping a label on them. When you slap a "labelmaker" label on the label maker's power supply, you know you've got a problem.
Don't say I didn't warn you!
Switching between tape sizes seemed to confuse the machine at times. It claimed an 18 point font was too big for .47" tape, which I know is not because I'd already done it.
I got curious about the PC connection and went through some very un-slick steps to download the software and printer driver. The application is not intuitive to use and did not open up a whole new world of icons or frames as I had hoped. You get more from emojis on a cell phone. I don't see why it would not be possible to use Internet symbols/characters. I will see if I can make that happen. I was really hoping for a clean, consistent look for all of my labels, along with relevant pictures, but am having a hard time accomplishing that.
I do like that you can use different font sizes per line. Nice for disclaimers like standard vs. small base for light bulbs.
Of course the best feature is the ability to plug it in vs. using a ton of batteries. Although my mom told me to just keep the batteries in the box with the device, my family always seems to pilfer and you can never find enough batteries to do anything. I did see a cheaper one at the Container Store that had a case with a battery section that was well rated, but it doesn't have center alignment like this one does. That was important to me so that all of my labels could be the same length (which was occasionally problematic and I wasted quite a few labels on the learning curve).
And the big mystery question: why is it required to have a 1/2" feed cut off before every single label is printed?? I set to narrow margins (I was not confident with chain printing with 3" centered labels) to reduce the waste as much as possible, but I am at a loss about the need for that strange feature. I know all label makers have this waste problem. It just seems so unnecessary.

I haven’t connected it to the computer yet to see about added my company logo to it but will get there one of these days.
