The pacing is pretty fast, which fits with an adventure type tale. There is action before we even get on the boats. I absolutely loved the dynamics between McNamara and Reynard, who I liked more than I should have, I think. The men are not typical hero material, though Reynard is a bit shadier, with a past I would love to read more about. Motives are obscured for most of the story. I was totally surprised by how things unfolded.
As it neared the end I felt real tension and couldn’t stand when I had to put the book down for any reason. The final fighting sequence was perfect! Absolutely loved the way that played out. Obviously, I won’t say why, because that would spoil your fun, and there is so much fun to be had.
Highly recommend for fans of adventures, historical fiction, and swashbuckling.
Reynard, the charming and magnetic pirate asks McNamara to join his cause, in which he seeks redemption for his many years of raping and pillaging upon the high seas. He has found the love of a woman, and because it serves King George's purposes, he will be pardoned as long as he brings seven of the worst pirates before their knees in front of the out-of-favor King.
Well, I can't say too much, as not to give anything away, but things twist and turn until McNamara has been thrust into his worse nightmare. Action packed and well designed, I highly recommend this book to those who want an authentic swashbuckling experience.
A cherishable and interesting history read. Highly recommend it!
I loved the way the story’s tension built up towards the end. I will not get into it more than that. Would hate to spoil the fun. Yar’ best be getting’ yar copy today!
As a former sailor I know a thing or two about the sea, so does this author. I found the read enjoyable and enlightening. I highly recommend it. Keep up the good work!
There's a glossary of terms at the end as well that helps the reader understand some of the less common verbage in the book.
