This is a warm story about forgiveness that takes a look at mental illness.
Her Brother's Keeper was fantastic. It was especially refreshing to see yet another new (and complex) Amish storyline. Well done, Beth Wiseman!
'This new series has caring characters [...] the plot has enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. Wiseman has created a series in which the readers have a chance to peel back all the layers of the Amish secrets.' -4 1/2 starred review and July 2015 Top Pick! (RT Book Reviews)
“Wiseman’s new launch is edgier, taking on the tough issues of mental illness and suicide. Amish fiction fans seeking something a bit more thought provoking and challenging than the usual fare will find this series debut a solid choice.” (Library Journal)

Charlotte aka Mary wanted to understand why her brother took his life when everything seemed to be going great! Disguising herself as an Amish women Mary soon discovers lying to people doesn't feel so good. When she wakes up in Lancaster County with green hair she is sure God did this to her for lying. Mary still needs to know what happened to cause her brother to kill himself so she continues to lie and ends up in several situations which has the readers laughing or crying. How long will Mary be able to continue on this path before the lies become to much for her to deal with?
How does Mary deal with the secrets she uncovers? Will she do the right thing and confess before it's to late or does God choose a different path for her? I know I was surprised the way it all plays out!
I did not receive a complimentary copy of this book! I submit my honest review for a very different story on the Amish that I really enjoyed! I'm hoping there will be more books to follow as I felt the story really didn't end. I rated this book with 5 stars for a story that most people could relate to.
