About the Author
Janel Gradowski lives in a land that looks like a cold weather fashion accessory, the mitten-shaped state of Michigan. She is a wife and mom to two kids and one Golden Retriever. Her journey to becoming an author is littered with odd jobs like renting apartments to college students and programming commercials for an AM radio station. Somewhere along the way she also became a beadwork designer and teacher. She enjoys cooking recipes found in her formidable cookbook and culinary fiction collection. Searching for unique treasures at art fairs, flea markets and thrift stores is also a favorite pastime. Coffee is an essential part of her life.

Amy takes a little time to attending a blogging conference at the local hotel. One of the attendees is found collapsed on the floor near the ice machine and later dies at the hospital. It turns out this person was murdered. The lead detective - who happens to be married to Carla - asks Amy for her help in solving the case. Amy readily agrees because she doesn't want Carla's husband off trying to catch the killer when Carla goes into labor.
I really enjoyed this book and think it's the best yet! There is a small shift in the story telling that I really liike and think works well for this series. There is more of a focus on the characters and their relationships, for example Amy and her husband have conversations and we get more some insight into why Amy feels the way she does about certain things.
The story is fast paced and well plotted. There were a few surprises along the way that kept me guessing until the end. I really enjoy this series and look forward to what happens next!
