Love this rifle. I had bought a Gamo Silent Cat break barrel rifle, but soon discovered than you cannot get a good group with a break barrel rifle using a scope. It worked OK at 20 yards with open sights, as the sights are mounted to the barrel, but that's all. I discovered quickly that a scope is completely useless with a break barrel gun. So I returned it. After doing more research I found that a fixed barrel is the way to go if you plan on using a scope. This air rifle is very accurate. It's heavy, even heavier than my Browning .270 with a 3-9 Nikon Monarch scope! I discovered that that is an advantage in accuracy for this type of air rifle. I can achieve a 1" group at 50 yards without a rest. I can kill a squirrel at 75 yards with this baby! I use the JSB Diablo Exact .177 pellets since they shoot the best out of this gun. I will never buy a break barrel air rifle again, the fixed barrel is the way to go. You can't beat this for the price.

I expected a lot from this rifle after all the favorable reviews and for the price it won't disappoint.

I got mine in .22 and I have shot about 200 pellets so far and the action went from 'gritty' to smooth. The metal and wood are good quality and exceed the quality you would expect for a rifle in this price range.

The trigger is light but pretty unpredictable. It often surprises you due to the creep in the second stage and some people might call that a good thing. I find it acceptable for a cheap rifle and if you are used to any of the big box break barrel guns, you will be happy with this trigger because it's better.

The accuracy is okay. I don't keep any guns that can't shoot straight and I find this one acceptable. On a bench at 30 yards you can expect to hit a 2" spinner target every time. This largely depends on the pellets you buy though and I haven't tried them all. I bought the JSB testing assortment pack and found that daisy cheapo pellets work as well as any of those but you will find many more daisy pellets that are obviously damaged and just toss them. It is a 'minute of squirrel' gun which is more than I can say for many of the spring air guns I have shot in the past.

The scope is garbage and probably accounts for much of the accuracy discrepancies. I can see where people might think it's a good scope (clear sight picture at the crosshairs, decent build quality) but if you are experienced with optics you pick up on the problems quickly. In my scope the lenses weren't lined up properly and the point of impact will change depending on the zoom level and parallax (the front adjustment on the scope). With any air gun you will be shooting at shorter ranges and adjustable parallax is a MUST.

i did as was suggested and order the +10 compensation mount and mid ht rings and immeatiatly took off the mount by removing all bolts and prying off with a screwdriver. keep the same scope because it has great clearity. set the ao on 30 yrds took about 15 min to zero in. then when back and but blue treadlock on all bolts so i knew nothing would move when it dries. next day sat up 4 targets at 25 yards and one at 50 yars and one at 60 yards right where i have to shoot and the most ground squirrels and tree squirrels. first target was 2 cliks off to right adjusted and perceeded to stack 3 shots in all four target at 25 yds. dead center in same whole. didthe same at 50 and sixty. the next mourning started the war and in one week there has been 11 ground squirrels and 46 tree squirrels killed with one shot each- robbing bird feeders . each shot between 25 yards and 60 yards and holding dead center on them. this is the most accurate rifle i have ever found- my friend that helped me owns all kinds of more expensive guns - his statement was if you could get nitro piston into this fixed barrel rifle it yould be unbeatable. great buy from amazon.it is a little harder to cock than his nitro but he cannot shot shots like this. a-l perfection. the best gun under $200 and only got the compensation for t06 trigger more and the med height weaver style rings used blue titelock. i am 100% satisfied!

I purchased this for target shooting and to kill a pesky rat that keeps coming in our yard. I am very pleased overall. The stock is nice looking for a rifle in this price range and the quality of the parts and assembly seem very good. I expect it to last me a long time. Item comes well boxed and arrived with no damage issues.

When I first fired it, I was a little taken back. This gun has a little kick and the report is kinda on the loud side. It is a spring action rifle so I did expect this before it arrived. Close to a .22 rim fire in sound and feel. I have neighbors within 20 feet on one side and I'm not trying to upset them so unless I'm dealing with the rat I will keep this to indoors or take it out away from the neighborhood.

Cocking the gun is easy for an adult, but would be challenging for small or young children, a feature I like! Loading the pellet in the receiver area is a little awkward but you get a feel for it pretty quickly and is easy once you've done it a number of times.

I didn't want a break barrel because they can suffer from accuracy problems because of all the barrel movement required by that design. This is a fixed barrel design and I really think it makes for a much better rifle. I did some research and found that spring action models suffer from barrel droop in relation to the scope. Not sure why but this is true for the one I received. The scope by the way is very nice and attaches securely. They have a rubber shim glued in the rear scope mount but I made up some shims that won't crush or shift around, I found that the rubber smashed down a bit and wasn't serving well as a shim. I started dialing in the scope at 10', then out to 20' and finally 30' which was all I could manage indoors.
