It's ironic that professors, teachers, writing about one of the great communicators in rock and roll can't clearly communicate their feelings without resorting to "academic-speak".
For example, they compare Bruce's characters to Hamlet and Titus Andronicus...WHO?
He connects with us because of his "zeitgeist". ..WHAT?
It's a shame that you need a dictionary to try to figure out what these educators are trying to say.
Don't give these bores your $40.
You don't need these snobs explanations to validate your love of Springsteen.
