This JCB MIDI CX Backhoe Loader is made just like the real thing. The frontloading arm has a grip for steering and a locking mechanism in the upper position. The shovel has 2 positions for loading and unloading. The driver’s seat swivels to allow full operation of the backhoe. The backhoe has fold-down stabilizer legs, a loading arm that can excavate below ground level and is also detachable. The standard tractor coupling, which is included, can be mounted when the backhoe loading unit has been removed; this allows all trailers and farming equipment available to be used.

It can be used on large and small construction sites and combines 3 tools in one: a mini digger, a compact wheel loader and a compact tractor. Removable Backhoe Loading Arm allows for the attachment of the rear hitch to make the item compatible with other BRUDER trailers and implements. Fantastic detailed toy backhoe

This is a fantastic toy. My 2.5 year old son has many construction toys, but none this detailed. The level of detail is really quite remarkable... and should be considering the very high price. The backhoe can be separated from the front loader and my son loves that. He will take the backhoe arm off and use it as a front loader for a few days then want the backhoe arm back on so he can excavate a new construction dig.

I was initially concerned that the toy was going to break easily after reading some of the negative reviews.... he plays pretty good with it in sand and mulch for the past several months and it hasn't broken yet. It's one of the few toys he plays with pretty much every single day and he will ask for it pretty much all the time.

This won't be my last Bruder toy purchase, I'm quite impressed!

He loves his backhoe. Actually, he seems to love any of the Bruder items I've purchased for him; but it's probably a tie between this and the bulldozer.

Not the most durable thing out there, he's broken the front bucket, and the stabilizers/back arm assembly will likely need replacement soon, but the parts are available for easy replacement. Also neat is that the back arm assembly can mount on the bulldozer, and the ripper can mount on the backhoe...so some fun there too.

He kind of races around with it. Same with the bulldozer. I'm sure if these were life-scale, they'd be setting some land speed records...lol

Not the best toys for sand/dirt...but beads/dried pasta make a great substitute ;)

Purchased this used at a discount from Amazon's warehouse deals as someone had returned it for unknown reasons. It is in perfect shape minus a small black mark on the top that rubbed off. My nineteen-month-old spends hours playing with this backhoe front loader b/c it's just like daddy's. He carries it around with him and wants to take it with him where ever he goes. It's made of plastic but I don't mind b/c it's quality construction with great, detailed parts that stands up to water and much abuse.

UPDATE: Front loader cracked and fell off after being dropped on the floor. I was hoping this would stand up to some real wear and tear

OK, I think I like Bruder Toys as much as my son. The realism and accuracy are first-class. Typical German quality and craftsmanship make these toys fun and durable. We have Bruder dump trucks, concrete mixers, excavators, and more. Yes, they are a bit more expensive, but they last. By this ,I mean...my 3.5 year old son will be enjoying these for many years. They are not silly looking and boys up to 10-11 years old would enjoy playing with them. So, we would rather buy quality German Bruders, than 3-4 cheap toys that will certainly end up in the trash. This Backhoe is fun for outdoors or the sandbox. If you are buying for inside play, get a Bruder toy with wheels. The Bruder vehicles come with a cool little catalogue that shows their incredible variety of construction and farming themed toys. You can't go wrong with these trucks. Check out the many videos online.

I thought it was a little pricey but once it got here I know it will last and is extremely well made. I will be looking into more of Bruders toys. I love that it wheels nice and the backhoe part operates as a real one would and you can feel the difference in the plastic. It’s not cheap. And I love that it is quiet and there’s no obnoxious sounds blaring out of a speaker. My son was SO excited for this toy. Thanks Bruder!

Back bucket breaks easily

This backhoe was a gift for my 4-yr old son. The tractor wasn't out of the box for more then 10-min when the plastic hinge point on the back bucket snapped. He and I were extremely disappointed...
Online it looked to be built pretty well so I was hoping it would last a long time before any parts broke.

Also, 2 of the "hydrologic pins" stick in place making it difficult to manipulate the back bucket.

Overall it's a good toy and my son is still in love with it despite the broken back bucket.

Bruder makes excellent, realistic toys that hold up well to kids. My 3 year old is obsessed with construction trucks and he simply loves this backhoe. He got the chance to operate a real backhoe this summer and he really appreciates how intricate and realistic this toy it. The moving pieces (front bucket, back arm, stabilizer legs) all have nice detents that 'pop' them into position and the chair swivels around. I'm going to be buying more Bruder in the future.

I really like this toy and my son does too, but the durability on this thing is almost non-existent. My son is not that rough with his toys, either. I appreciate that there is no metal on this toy backhoe but the plastic is just too brittle and the joints keep coming apart. I have use a lot of epoxy to keep this thing in one piece. It sure looked sharp before it starting coming apart at the seams.
