I realize this album is several years old, but I wanted to add some input since the few reviews here are so positive. This is certainly a heavy album and the novelty of such extreme versions of Christmas songs is interesting. However, it mostly plays as a collection of low budget recordings by garage bands. I know Frank's Enemy has done some decent recording in the past, but this track is even more "experimental" sounding than most of that. I can't think of anything good to say about it other than it's certainly an original arrangement. Likewise, we would expect something decent sounding from Frost Like Ashes (although the "Eternally Haunt" album sounded 10x better than anything done under the FLA moniker). There are also a couple of tracks where sections of off-key vocals were never fixed, making it clear these bands weren't given the time and/or money to produce quality content. The full-length by Tortured Conscience was much better than the "Drummer Boy" we get here and IMO "Pa-rum-pa-pa-pa-pum" in death growls can't be taken seriously.
If you're a big fan of one of the bands featured here or you're really into underground metal, you'll want to give this a spin.
This cd has inspired me to post a Christmas metal song on my myspace page asap for the holidays!!! I love Christmas, I love METAL!! Put the two together and it's a perfect match!! What's cool about this is that the groups on here are doing covers of Christmas hymns instead of original tunes or secular covers (probably partially because Christmas hymns are all public domain!! You've gotta love that... u don't have to pay the writers of the songs because they have been dead for centuries!!) ... and most groups fall in the really heavy category (death/thrash/black/crust metal etc.) and these songs are really varied, with operatic vocals along with black metal shrieks!!!
I RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE, FROM METAL HEADS TO THE DISCERNING LISTENER, EVEN IF JUST TO ANNOY AND AMAZE YOUR CO-WORKERS!

This album is amazing! All of your favoite Christmas Carols and all of your favoite Christian Metal bands screaming them! 11 metalified xmas songs. Everything from very heavy rock to Black Death Neo Metal.
