Obviously a good, heavy duty outlet suitable for heavy duty uses like welding or electric car charging. I wired it with 8 gauge.
But...what about the cover plate? The diameter of this outlet is bigger than standard and I looked all over Amazon and elsewhere for the proper size. Couldn't find one. I ended up modifying a standard sized cover.
It would have been nice if Bryant, or Amazon, highlighted a proper cover. Oh, well, all done now and ready for use.
In case anyone is wondering about EV charging, this can be used for most any EV, even powerhouse Teslas. For normal overnight home charging it is sufficient to use a 40 amp breaker and a 32 amp charge rate. You can use 8 ga wire for this and need 3/4 conduit for four 8 ga wires. Some people like to go bigger on the charge rate and therefore on the wiring and all, but note that most people are not charging up from empty very often and so a more modest circuit is more than enough.
