This book reminds me of the time we spent with our grandson this summer and we did make bubbles. So fun to be able to act like a kid again.
Illustrated very colorful children's book about bubbles. The girl is named Bubbles.
You get to play a guessing game what bubbles likes and on the next page it shows you what was suggested.
When you find out what bubbles likes the best it is shown how to do it and what makes it so fun.
I like this book because it reminds me of my grandson and how he loves doing step by step instructions.
The story tells us what Bubbles likes and guides us through her learning to blow bubbles. It's rather cute. The words, though simple, describe well, with impact, what is going on.
The *only* drawback for me is that the girl is wearing a two-piece bathing suit on one page. This is a drawback for me because I come from a background where two-piece bathing suits are considered immodest (or revealing). So, I would sure like (and recommend) the book a whole lot more if that one picture were changed (if you let me know if it ever is changed, I can update this). It's like Ni Hao Kai-lan. It's a really, really excellent show. Everything about it is great, except that she often wears a sleeveless shirt, and on very rare occasions wears a two-piece bathing suit.
If I didn't come from the background I do, I wouldn't consider that there were any drawbacks.
I'm reviewing the PDF edition (which is likely the same as the rest).
Books by the author I quite recommend are these (especially the first):
My Snow Day
Once upon a Pencil
By the way, I received a complimentary digital edition of this book from Story Cartel because I promised to write an honest review. I really did like it, honestly. (You should see what I wrote about those other books... )
I've enjoyed reading all of Ally Nathaniel's book to my daughter, but this one hasn't really grasped her like the others. I question some of the longer words chosen as they are a little advanced, though the pictures are cute. Also, whether it is just the free version I received for my Kindle or affects all versions, the text and the picture on the next page that goes with it won't display at the same time. The text always displays with the previous picture, which seems like a large oversight.
