1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, Made in China
By Nick on August 5, 2018
This product looks like a nice bushcraft knife in the pictures, but in reality it lacks the toughness to perform. I was clearing branches off of a tree and the knife got chipped from a PINE branch. Soft wood shouldn't make this big of an impact on a blade especially made by Buck. This is just a crappy knife made in Buck's Chinese sector of operation. They have the forever warranty but I would have to pay half of MSRP to get a knife that I didn't like again. I am just gonna roll with my EDC folding knife for a while until I find something to stand up to actual use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Every person I've showed this to says they plan to buy one!
By Fannimal on January 22, 2016
I love this knife! I always keep a fixed blade knife in my backpack, and have respectively carried a [[ASIN:B006LCSUVW Tops Knives Black Rhino, Black TP101]], a [[ASIN:B00KDQRINS Benchmade 140BKSN Nimravus Knife Fixed Plain Edge Black Coated Blade/ Sand Handle]], or a [[ASIN:B000G0HP5C Gerber LMF II Survival Knife, Coyote Brown [22-41400]]]. All are great knives, but two of them are really heavy to be carrying around in my bag, and the Nimvarus is just so pretty I don't really want to beat it up.

Enter this Buck. This knife is so comfortable in my hand that it's difficult to describe. The material used in the handle, and the shape and angle of the handle are fantastic. I find that the pommel is also at a very comfortable angle when held where it could be used to drive tent stakes or the like if that was something a person really felt the need to do with a knife. The knife is a nice blend of size and manageable weight. It came very sharp right out of the box, and the blade work on the knife appears as refined as some knives I have spent much more money on.

The 420HC is the standard steel used by Buck on all of their knives and has traditionally been a good choice for a multi-purpose knife. I made the mistake of trying the fire steel with the notch in the blade and the sparks were plentiful and long lasting to the point I was worried that I was going to have to put out a fire on my desk...

I know that some folks are up in arms about this blade being produced in China, but I trust Buck to have good QC both at home and over seas, and ultimately, they are an American business.

Bottom line, for the price, I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a better knife.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great knife for the price!!
By Megan C. on February 2, 2018
This is honestly one heck of a knife! I love how you can configure the sheath for vertical or horizontal carry. I chose horizontal or "scout carry". Easily concealed behind my back and out of the way. It's virtually weightless on my belt. I ditched the spark rod and little sheath for that. It's a nice attachment, but I've got a few in my pack already so to the spare pile with this one. Overall, the knife has great weight, the sheath is durable and smooth, and despite being made in China this knife is of very good quality. Plus Buck stands behind it. For the price, its worth it! The only problem I have found after using it a few times is the handles will come loose. A dab of lock-tite fixed this issue. I will probably have my buddy design some custom wood handles for it in the future.

2.0 out of 5 stars Un cinese americano
Reviewed in Italy on July 14, 2019
