Just getting in to knives. Not full bore mostly for EDC (Every Day Carry). This knife was smaller than I anticipated when first opened. But after a week of carry it has become my Go-To knife. I always forget I'm carrying it until I need it. I wasn't thrilled by the design of the casing but the feel in my hand is spot-on. Just as a reference I wear large size work gloves. The quickness of the spring assisted blade is positive and you have confidence it's locked open. No side to side play in the blade what so ever A simple safety lock sets on top of the knife and doesn't interfere with normal daily operation. I paid $33 total for the knife and it's worth every penny to me. And really that's all that counts in my book. After seeing my Buck Knife my co-worker bought one too, and he's just as happy with his.. And to add to this awesome knife review it's made in the U.S.A.! Mine was shipped from BladeRunner, LLC. which I've purchased most of my knives from and they are a great Amazon vendor. Never a single problem yet. Hope this helps anyone on the fence about your next or even your first EDC.

I bought the Buck Quickfire knife in black/silver. For $30 delivered and american made it is a great bargain. Amazon has the lowest price delivered I could find. Great styling, the feel and quality of the materials are great. The edge is decent and the open assist is quick though not as quick as my Leek but I like the safety lock that is on the Buck better. The weight is perfectly acceptable for its size. I also like the mid lock on the Buck better than the liner locks found on most blade assist knives. Overall a great knife. I usually keep my blade assist knives in an AG Russell pocket sheath(around $13 delivered if nothing else is ordered and made of very nice leather) for I have a concern that if I forget to lock the blade and the knife opens in my pocket I may be singing soprano.

Update. My nephew liked the Buck Quickfire in black very much and I gave it to him. I re-ordered the Buck Quickfire in blue and like the blue so much better. The blue quickfire seems to open a little quicker, not sure if that is a QC thing or not. Overall, it is a great knife and I think the blue quickfire is better looking than the black. One thing that I forgot to mention is it fits well in my hand especially with the clip off. Be careful, check to make sure the lock is on before you put it in your pocket. I bought another in blue after I gave mine to my niece. Then bought one for my brother.

update 8/20/13 - out of the 4 buck quickfire knives I bought, within 2 years 2 of the knives had problems. On one the blue handle cracked losing a third of one side of the handle that has the clip while it was in my pocket not being used and the second one, the knob to lock and unlock the blade fell off which was lost. The broken handle one was sent to buck for repair. The knives have a lifetime warranty. Overall would still buy another for they are good knives.

I wasn't a big fan of Buck after I received a cheap China made model but this one has reaffirmed my faith in the brand. The "assisted open" took a little while to get used to but it's pretty neat. At times it can be annoying when it doesn't open all the way but a flick of the wrist easily fixes that. I'm big on buying US products and this knife shows the quality of the stamp. I use this on a daily basis and have yet to sharpen it, though I really need to soon. I've had this knife for almost a year now. I have dropped it on the blade's point on solid concrete and it barely even knicked the blade. A few times I've snagged the knife's clip and slung it across the warehouse I work in (concrete floor all over). There's not a single scratch on the exterior, in case you're wondering how well the plastic holds up. I am very impressed with this knife and would recommend it to anybody looking for a good work knife.

This is a great Buck Knife. It is made in the USA and those are hard to come by these days! The assisted spring opener works great. It is so fast! The safety lock works great also. One con though and that is the clip bends very easily and is useless once done. You could try to fix it, but I just took it off. The blade is made of quality 420HC steel. This is a great deal for your money!

This is the fastest assisted opening knife I have ever seen. I have owned this knife for almost a week now and I am very glad to make this my every day carry knife. It is constructed very nice, is very sharp, and like I said earlier the assisted opening works very well. The only thing I am not happy with is there is no way to tear this knife apart to clean it because it is riveted together. But over all this knife is a very nice knife, I like it so much that I just ordered another one. Oh and the best feature of thus knife is its made in the USA. If you are looking for a knife I highly recommend this knife, you can't beat the quality of this knife for the price that it is sold for.
