There were some genuinely creepy places, the morgue has one scene that was proper horror and just really cool. I like horror, so it was a nice surprise in this thriller.
I enjoyed the story and the nods it gave to Supernatural, a show I also really enjoyed. There were some technical issues but they didn’t detract from the good time I had reading this tale. I look forward to seeing how this evolves.
So, I've read short stories from this author before (and loved them!), and therefore was both excited and nervous and about going into this one. Some people can write long or short, not all can do both. But she pulled it off beautifully!
This was a straight forward demon story, and it was awesome. There's a delightfully creepy scene in the morgue, and I won't sleep well if my little one starts singing tonight! And the ending! The story is satisfying, no cliffhanger, but leaves you begging for more. Which I am. I need more!
This is something I could see being turned into another media form, tv or movie, or at the least an audio with a multi-person cast.
Bob says: 4 Platypires!
Are real and like the souls of babies and unborn children alike. Father Gunter is a demon’s worst nightmare. But even he will need help to destroy the demon that is killing babies in Bucktown. And help does come but from a very unlikely source. Will it be enough to see the demon hunter through the final showdown with evil?
If Father Gunter can find and kill the demon who is harming babies in Bucktown, he will be that much closer to finding the demon that took his sister from him. He knows she’s not dead. She can’t be. So begins a series that could prove to be entertaining if it matures along the way.
The narration by John Fehskens was decent and kept me engaged throughout the story. I listened on 1.5 speed.
