Product Description
Legendary Gundam studio Sunrise’s latest addition to the mech genre, Buddy Complex takes action and adventure to new heights with dynamic visuals, high-caliber animation and huge interstellar battles.
It’s shaping up to be another boring day for high school student Aoba Watase until a bright light appears in the sky and a giant robot attacks the city.
As the mechanical menace closes in on him, he’s saved by a classmate who’s piloting a mech of her own. After accepting a cryptic offer to join the alliance she’s a part of, Aoba is thrust into the future where a new world war threatens to tear the planet apart. With no other choice, Aoba must pick a side, learn to pilot a mech, and fight his way through an army of enemies as he tries to find a way back to the past he left behind.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2020This anime arrive a whole week ahead of schedule. This is definitely an anime that flew under the radar of most anime watchers. You will not be let down by the twist in the story.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2019No English dub! Excellent. Keeps the price down, and spares us horrible English voice acting. Wish the subs could be turned off, but it's not bad. Animation is good. The CG isn't obnoxious. The drawn animation is good, with nice character details here and there. The best animation is in the beginning, in the modern day Japan, but most of action is in the future, full of cockpits for the most part. Not a fan of the mech designs. Wish they'd taken a risk and actually drawn military machinery, rather than pointy toys, especially as the storyline is of military conflict. And here's where the blandness really comes in. The story and characters are, like the toy robots, a safe choice. It's a shame that new IPs are what anime is all about, but they can't seem to shake the generic feeling. Characters are ok. The cast is pretty huge, considering the run time, and they all get screen time, but this seems to dilute and set up threads that go nowhere, like additional pilots or love interess. There are attempts at melodrama with dialogue and situations, pushed especially with the music, but I felt pretty distant from this one all around. The part where they proclaim they'll protect what they'll protect, to the exception of all, thanks, is a good example of this silliness. The time travel, the buddy system, the politics of the world, the world plays pretty free and loose with its rules. So, what exactly are the boundaries of these forces? Is Hawaii neutral?Just another detail to toss aside with the rest. The twist I imagined was exactly what played out, but made no sense - Hina fits in how, exactly?! Childhood? Repeating choice? No logic. In the end, this is a good production that is let down by safe, boring choices, mixed in with a bewildering time travel premise at its core that wasn't fleshed out. And the ending... Not a terrible anime, but doesn't rise above ok.

You may ask why I am giving it a 4? Well, the packaging says that it is dubbed, but it actually isn't.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2016From the guys that made Mobil suit gundam, it is pretty good only problem is it's listed with an English dub but it doesn't have it it's more then likely a mistake on Amazon for listing it like that but other then that it's a good show if you like gundam
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2021Great how if you like time delving stuff. In general anime is extremely way too expensive.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2019I know I like to watch Anime in general, but this is an awesome idea for a science fiction story involving time travel.
It was great for me to be able watch this anime digitally so that I can view it quickly on TV, Computer, Phone, etc.

El producto llego a tiempo y sin daños.
La serie es muy buena, la historia no es nada original, pero cumple de muy buena manera tanto en acción como en la historia.
TReviewed in Canada on June 24, 20235.0 out of 5 stars It's quite short, only about 15 episodes - but it's pretty good too.
Nice little show, though it feels like it had enough steam to go at least for a 25 episode run, if not a full 50. I don't know why it wasn't longer... Amazingly, it does manage to wrap the story up well enough in a two-parter which is quite impressive. I wish there were more, though.
It is very competent in just about everything, though it does, though it does not break new ground anywhere really. If you've ever enjoyed a Sunrise mecha anime, you'll likely enjoy this one.
The Japanese performances are excellent as you'd expect, the music is good - especially the opening theme. The strongest element in this show for me was the character designs. There's something about them I find really appealing, something like a cross between Cross Ange and Eureka 7.
This version of the release had no glaring issues from Funimation (sometimes I find their blu ray quality/presentation suspect), so overall I'd recommend this if you enjoy mecha shows.

I purchased this product because I like mech anime. The Product description listed it as both dubbed and original language with subtitles. However when I received it I found out it was only in the original Japanese language with subtitles. I was very disappointed. I think the product description should be changed so other people do not buy this product thinking it is dubbed when it isn't.
