The concept of Monikers is pretty simple - get your friends to guess a bunch of names (like Brian Biotin, Grimace and Robocop) printed on a set of cards. There are three rounds and each round has different rules about how you can give clues. In the first round, you can say anything you want. In the second, you can only use one word. In the third round, you can only do charades. Each turn is only 60 seconds so chances are you will see your friends crack under pressure. Since the cards chosen (5 cards x the number of players) are used for each round, by the end of the game, you will have a bunch of hilarious inside jokes. Some say this is either a really smart dumb game or a really dumb smart game. Either way, you will love playing Monikers!

Each card has a person, place or thing from various eras. Some history, some pop culture, internet memes, etc. You form teams and the object is to get your team to guess as many cards as they can in 60 seconds. The first round, you can act out and use words to describe what is on your card. Second round is "charades" style only - no words, just movement and actions. The third and final round, you have to get your team to guess what's on the card with ONE word. Each card has a point value and you add up the points for your team after each round.
If this game doesn't make you laugh, there's no help for you. We will be playing this game for years to come!

I hoped it would be good but it is actually far better than we expected.
You split into (at least) two teams, each person takes 10 cards and chooses 5 they like. each team combines their 5 cards into that team deck.
The game goes in rounds using the same deck. 1st Round one person takes the deck and can use words and mimes allowed, no saying the name of course. 60 seconds to get as many as you can. 2nd Round is mimes and one word only, 3rd is no words but mimes. SUSD also recommended 2 further rounds, hands only (hide behind a table or sofa), and finally head only (no words).
Because you use the same deck your knowledge builds when you play a round and there is a little strategy to using gestures and mimes in round 1 to set a foundation for later. You also know your own 5 cards which is a little help.
This game is a gem, no-one really cared about who was winning because it was so fun. recommended all day long! Only minor criticism is that a lot of the cards may be people a UK audience won't know but the drawing 10 choosing 5 usually gets around this.
A great party game with friends and arrived quickly.
