Huge Buffy fan, and up to date on Buffy comics and Angel and Faith series. It is fun to revisit Buffy before all the sturm und drang of her more adult adventures and I did like the 1st one in the series. The graphics are fine in anime style, but the storyline is extremely weak and at reading level of a 2nd grader. Very basic, simple plot that is entirely transparent and predictable from the 1st panel introducing the obvious antagonist. Scooby Doo episodes have more nuance. No humorous bits to even leaven the tedium a little. The author should be embarrassed by this "effort."

Really REALLY simple teenage story (more than in 1st issue). Nothing funny or witty as you know from original TV Buffy series (or canonical comics series after that). This is definitely my last issue i bought. This series is really oriented for 12 year olds (I'm not trying to be mean, I really think this is meant for that age).
For early teenagers it is ideal, because of nice art, no swearing, only little and very mild violence and some good (simple) advices (e.g. "cheating is bad").

I'm a big Buffy fan but the plot of this comic was just silly. Don't bother.

Five stars, but with issues. This was like one of those so-so Buffy episodes. Not that good, not really that bad. I wasn't really excited reading the synopsis before buying, so I knew I was going to get to the end and go, "Meh." Yes, it's got humor, and they're in high school with all their worries, and stuff, but the tiger demon thing just wasn't that interesting. Like I said, you'd still watch it if it were a Buffy episode 'cause you love Buffy, but you'd really forget about the storyline later on. This one is really all about Buffy and the gang, navigating their way through school and life, and not about what the antagonist means for Buffy as a slayer. But having said that, I'll still continue to read on, if there are more to be published. I'm sure the writers have something awesome planned.

Good, but could have been longer

Wow! And I thought the first volume was bad. Here the creators give us something that should never have seen the light of day. Asinine plot, terrible dialogue, basic art, and most maddening a complete mishandling of the source material. The beauty of doing a comic version of Buffy is no budgetary constraints for special effects. You couldn't tell that here. I can't get over how Joss let this be produced. I don't know who this is supposed to appeal to. Overall, an enormous miss. I'm upset I paid for this.

One for the graveyard

The artwork is nice but the story is no where near as good as "Freaks & geeks". Its quite childish in my opinion and reads like a bad filler episode of season one. I would skip this one.

Retour aux sources pour Buffy
Reviewed in France on April 20, 2017Verified Purchase
