The beginning of the book is very interesting, both introducing the rules of Bughouse Chess, clearly describing why players find it interesting, and addressing some basic strategies and tactics. Most of the book is a collection of essays by players which vary wildly in quality, most falling on the lower end. A few get into helpful advice and tactics, but most just talk in vague terms about the game or describe tangential issues such as finding partners who have good sportsmanship.
I'm glad I read the beginning. I'm glad I skimmed the rest.
