This book feels like a blog post compilation, but not put together in a logical order and with much repetition. For example, essentially the same discussions on how to choose free vs. paid hosting occurs in chapter 1 and again in two different places in chapter 3. A chapter on general tips and tricks from experts sits strangely in the middle of the book.
There are inconsistencies, not least when the author who identifies as Joseph Robinson on the cover calls himself Russell in chapter 5. In that same chapter he states, "Bloggers need to minimize the number of words they put in to 300. The shorter your posts, the higher chances of getting traffic." But then in chapter 7 he says, "Ideally, the word count should be not lower than 1500 words and should not be longer than 5000 words." Well, which is it?
There seems to have been no proof-reading prior to publication. Page numbers appear in the table of contents, but not on any of the actual pages. Chapter 6, entitled Email Marketing and Google Analytics, has no mention of Google Analytics (there is just one brief paragraph on the subject in chapter 7 saying essentially that it is useful, but with no details.) He tells us that to "find my pick for an [email] autoresponder" we have to go to his website. I bought the book; I want to read that information in the book. Chapter 8 - Plugins, Integrations and Omni-Channel Strategies - is just a two page description of a single SEO plugin. Chapter 9 - Copywriting. Do It Yourself or Outsource It - has no mention of copywriting, instead it's two and a half pages explaining what manufacurers, wholesalers, retailers and drop-shippers are. Chapter 10 - Where to Find People to Outsource Tasks - has no mention of outsourcing, instead it's repeat information about email newlsetters.. There's also no index.
There are typos and grammatical errors, and the language and construction is at times awkward or confusing. For example: "Avoid Duplicating Content and Giving Searchers What They Want: Be careful with duplicating content for the simple reason that in most cases, it is not usually a duplicated content literally, but using similar tags that can make search engines mistake them for duplicate content. Therefore, making vistors confuse your content for another person's or literally going to the wrong site." Elsewhere there is: "When sending an email to such specific audiences is more likely to create more conversions to your advertising materials that are sending their way." Another example: "... all people want is to get their needs met. Are you capable of reaching them at their point of need? Yes, you can only do that by offering the best of content and information. If you are, then, you will keep the quality content coming and anyone will be to continue reading your blog."
All in all then this book provides basic but repetitive, wordy, and poorly organized information. There's nothing really new or insightful here, no technical details, and important topics are missing. There are inconsistencies in advice given, and scant regard for proof-reading to ensure a quality book. It would be hard to recommend this book to any blogger, whatever his or her level, and especially not at this price. Don't waste your money
