The book's many wonderful photographs illustrate both the amazing production facilities of the 1940s, while including closeups of the workers who made America’s wartime production such a phenomenal success. The many interesting people in these pages also include well-known inventors, a couple of U.S. presidents, and Hollywood stars who worked in the Los Angeles area aircraft industry.
Although the author is an expert on the technical aspects of his material, and this is a book that carries enough detail to satisfy the most dedicated aviation enthusiast, it is also a clearly-written work that will appeal to the general reader. I came to this book no more knowledgeable of aviation history than the average reader, but I can assure you I enjoyed every page!
Light bomber. I know the story of Southern California aerospace pretty well but this book gave me some new facts. great story.
