This book will help anyone who is considering building a wooden boat of any type. I have built many boats over my career and by drawing upon that experience, I strive to convey information that will make the process easy to understand for my readers. Building wooden boats is an enjoyable hobby that will give you a life long satisfaction of a job well done.
While writing this book, I thought about the typical questions that any beginner boat builder may have such as the proper order of construction to selecting your building materials. I discuss the minimal tools necessary, and how to properly use them during your boat build. I also give a list of suppliers at the end of the book so that you may find and purchase your supplies on-line. The boat that I use as an example in this book is an easy to understand design with no difficult wood working skills involved in it's construction. Anyone can build this boat and create a strong, safe, and useful craft that will serve you with many years of enjoyment. Boat building can be a wonderful hobby and a valuable skill to learn and pass down to your family.
There is just something about the feel of a wooden boat that is unlike any other. It's quiet, organic, and friendly. Once you have launched a wooden boat that you have built with your own hands, you'll know exactly what I am talking about and you will feel the same pride for yourself!
