BB-8 is a BB-series astromech droid who belonged to Poe Dameron, a lead pilot for the Rebel Alliance. BB-8 would accompany Poe during his flights on the X-wing fighter. After accompanying his master on many missions for the Resistance, BB-8 became stranded alone on Jakku unsure of the fate of Dameron and forced to fend for himself. It was during this time BB-8 met Rey, a scavenger, who became his closest friend. BB-8 was childlike and precocious while also extremely loyal and his behavior often left Dameron wondering if the droid daydreamed.

If it not making the BB-8 movie noises is a deal breaker... Then this is not the clock for you. But if you just want a very cute, fairly detailed alarm clock that is functional then I highly recommend this clock.
I took several pictures so that you can see the full detailing. It lights up when the alarm goes off and you can also activate the light by pushing down on the head. You also push down on the head to activate the snooze function.
The programming instructions are very easy and only took a few minutes to set the time and the alarm.
The last photo I posted is for size comparison. On the left is the clock and on the right is the Hasbro remote controlled BB-8.
It would also be cooler if the robot's head turned around when the alarm goes off. It spins, but only when you give it a twirl by hand.
Daddy says: It's a really nice clock. I had some concern that it might seem really cheap or something. But it is just as advertised and the price seems more than fair. And it seems a little too big to take on trips.... :)
Edited to add: By October of this year the alarm had stopped alarming, despite being set and turned on. I'm assuming that the boys using the sleep feature a little too vigorously caused the issue, but it's still disappointing given that the clock is intended for children! The clock is still adorable and still in their room, but we had to get a backup clock radio to use as an alarm clock in the mornings.
