[+] THE REVIEWI am getting older, and my teeth are becoming more cavity prone. I wanted to try something in attempting to remineralize my teeth. I stumbled on the concept of making you own home-made toothpaste for the purposes of remineralizing teeth. I researched it a bit and found out some information that I thought I would pass along. The calcium ingredient for this toothpaste is calcium carbonate that I am purchasing from bulk supplements.I read some comments on how bulk supplements gets their calcium from China, which is a concern. So, I called bulk supplements and talked to Marcus. I have confirmed that they do indeed get their calcium products (specifically calcium carbonate and calcium citrate) from China. I then asked what assurances are there that this product is safe. Marcus informed me that the products received undergo about 2 weeks of testing to make sure there are no unwanted fillers or other substances that would be harmful like heavy metals. I asked specifically about the heavy metals to see if any existed in this product, and he said there are none. The rigorous testing gives me comfort that they are making sure the product of high quality. This gives me even more comfort than accepting a product from the U.S. without any testing.[+] THE TOOTHPASTESo far, I have researched ingredients to use in this toothpaste. They are broken up into ingredients that are more essential versus optional ingredients.Main Ingredients:- Calcium Powder- Baking Soda- Coconut OilOptional Ingredients:- Xylitol powder - to improve the taste- Cocao powder - to improve the taste and as a mild abrasive- Essential Oils for flavor such as mint, cinnamon, orange, clove, vanilla, etc.I can give you the initial combination of ingredients, but I have not tried this yet. This would be my starting point when I do try it.- 5 parts calcium- 2 parts baking powder- 3-5 parts coconut oil - to achieve the desired textureMix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
