Product Description

Size: 250 grams (8.8 oz) Powder

Branch Chain Amino Acids, most commonly shortened to BCAA, are made up of the amino acids L-valine, L-leucine, and L-isoleucine respectively. These are amino acids that are important to just about everyone, not just for athletes or bodybuilders. While at rest, these amino acids are necessary for promoting the healing of wounds, and during exercise, they are known for preventing the breakdown of muscle tissue. When they are working independently, they are just as necessary. Leucine is known for its contribution to wound recovery for injuries sustained by muscles, bones, and even skin; on the other hand isoleucine is known for boosting the general energy in the body while also helping in production of hemoglobin which is necessary for healing wounds too. Finally, Valine is known for helping to maintain the balance of nitrogen in the body which is necessary for developing muscles.

I really like this company and all their products I tried so far, and I have tried quite a few!
Great quality in a non-flashy, sturdy bag that has a zip-lock. All products have very little or no smell from I could tell and more importantly, they all mixed really well with my drinks. The one that smelled kinda bad was Agmatine.

Now, back to BCAA. I didn't know anything about this product but after buying some of their other products they sent me an e-mail asking me to pick a product to receive as a free sample (free shipping too) and all they asked was a review of it! How cool is that?

So, after some browsing the list of their products and some online research, I decided on trying the BCAA. They sent me a 100gr bag! First week I didn't get a chance to consume it properly, then started using the suggested 1500mg but once a day. I felt slightly better after workouts but nothing significant. Then I wised up and started using 2-3 times a day, at least one 30-45 minutes before workouts and one about an hour after. Wow, even after only 2 workouts the result was impressive. On non-workout days, I still consume at least one dose but ideally and normally 2 doses. I will increase it to 3 on workout days as suggested on the package.

It is, after all, what you are supposed to do, experiment on your own, but, prudently! The smarter and safer way is to start your dose on the small side. For instance, if recommended dosage is 1000mg (1gr) 3 times a day, start with 250mg or 500mg once or twice a day and observe your body's reaction for a few days and see if you notice the expected/anticipated changes or not. If not or very small, then increase the dosage and times, simple as that.

I was so impressed with the product that I just ordered another 250g bag.

Somebody else in a review said this tasted bad but I mixed it with water and had no complaints. I don't know if I'm benefiting from BCAAs but science appears to back up their value and BulkSupplements passes the smell test for legitimacy. No hype, outlandish promises, gaudy packaging, or expensive endorsement deals. In a market of fly-by-night companies peddling snake oil (or according to one recent report of multiple herbal companies that were just filling their capsules with rice) it is refreshing to see a simplistic what-you-see is what-you-get approach.

One thing to watch out for: The powder is so fine, light, and dry that if you don't carefully push the air out before sealing the package you might end up with a cloud of white powder in your face. I think I'm going to buy a set of canisters for my BulkSupplements products to keep them in so I don't have to fiddle with the resealable Ziploc style bags. It's not a complaint, I'd rather have a thin and simple bag than packaging that cost more to produce, ship, and just ends up taking more space in a landfill.

This is the best price, for the best possible, most pure BCAA's you can find. The 250g package gives you a whopping 166 servings, and that's if you use the full serving. I use a little less when I'm adding it to other proteins, and less if I'm using it pre-workout.

I've been running and lifting at a high level for a long time and I can easily do longer sets, and more sets every workout when I take a small serving ~30 minutes before. And after I'm done, this product helps me recover faster than ever before.

Can't say enough about how effective this product has been for an unbeatable price.

Disclaimer: I was asked to sample and review this product by bulksupplements. I do not work for bulksupplements, or know anyone who ever has. This is just my opinion, along with some factual data regarding BCAA, or Branch Chain Amino Acids.

Packaging and Shipping:
The packaging and shipping were up to standard. The bag itself containing the product can be resealed and from inspection is durable. There was NO PRODUCT DAMAGE and the it ARRIVED ON TIME.

Branch Chain Amino Acids:
Branched-chain amino acids are essential nutrients that the body obtains from proteins found in food, especially meat, dairy products, and legumes. They include leucine, isoleucine, and valine. "Branched-chain" refers to the chemical structure of these amino acids. People use branched-chain amino acids for medicine.

Athletes use branched-chain amino acids to improve exercise performance and reduce protein and muscle breakdown during intense exercise.

How does it work:
Branched-chain amino acids stimulate the building of protein in muscle and possibly reduce muscle breakdown. Branched-chain amino acids seem to prevent faulty message transmission in the brain cells of people with advanced liver disease, mania, tardive dyskinesia, and anorexia.

Possibly Effective For:
Anorexia. Taking branched-chain amino acids by mouth seems to reduce anorexia and improve overall nutrition in older, undernourished people. There is also early evidence that taking branched-chain amino acids by mouth might be helpful for people with anorexia that is associated with cancer or liver disease.

Poor brain function related to liver disease.
