This is a great tasting sauce! I’ve been apprehensive in buying tonkatsu sauce and I never thought it would be possible. I’ve only had chicken katsu from restaurants so there was some hesitation trying to recreate the dish on my own. I was so thrilled and pleasantly surprised with this sauce brand. Once I had one bite of chicken with the sauce, it brought back fond memories of when I had chicken katsu. The flavor was exactly what I remember experiencing before and it was so great. Highly recommend this flavorful sauce as an addition to a dish!
This is the first time we have purchased this sauce. The first time I tried it was when warming up bland leftovers of chicken, veggies, and orzo. It added a nice flavor. Not strong and not overwelming. Then we used it on pulled pork served over homemade mac and cheese. Again, it added a nice flavor of sweet and tangy. Everyone is now willing to try it on almost anything. This is something we will buy again.
Again my favorite out of the bottle tonkatsu sauce although in this particular case I don't at all recall the other brands tried. My brother-in-law is Japanese(much older) and I know that we've tried other brands when I stayed w/my sister and brother-in-law and kids when I was younger but Bulldog was ever present along with s&b golden curry roux.
Unfortunately it's about as hard to find around here as HP steak sauce is now since they no longer make it in Canada apparently. (Last time I saw a bottle it was from Holland IIRC, which is pretty idiotic IF they still make it in Canada as that's a c. 5m drive well barring the TSA BS.)

My best friend growing up was Japanese and her mom would use this for cooking and as a side condiment. After many years of pining I finally decided to search for it and found it on Amazon, of course.
Oh my god. It is exactly as I remembered. It’s so delicious and sooo versatile. I’ve already restocked and purchased some for a friend to try! It’s a great item to have in your kitchen or to give to those who enjoy cooking with new components!
I absolutely LOVED okonomiyaki (aka the Japanses pizza or pancake) while I studied for a semester abroad in Japan.
From time to time, I crave okonomiyaki and make it myself. I haven't been able to locate any markets in Nebraska that carry a sauce suitable for okomiyaki so I went looking online. There are a few products out there, but this is the only one out there I could find which is vegetarian. (most contain fish, chicken, and/or oyster extract)
The ingredients are: Water, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Sugar, Distilled Vinegar (Made from Alcohol), Salt, Tomato Paste, Modified Rice Starch, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (Contains Soy), Apple Puree, Spices, Yeast Extract, Prune Paste, Carrots, Onions, Lemon Juice.

I feel like the price is a little high, but I am paying for the convenience (I don't have an Asian grocery store nearby). The flavor was wonderful. A bit sweeter and tangier than the sauce I've had in restaurants, but I like it more. Bold flavor, balances the fatty flavor of tonkatsu. Highly recommend.
Bull-Dog is a sweet sour sauce that is used on fried breaded cutlets. The sauce has a strong tamarind flavor. I use it as a dipping sauce for tofu balls, a croquette made of tofu, rice, and peanut butter. The sauce arrived fresh and in good condition. It is hard to find out of big cities. It is sold in Oriental stores and at Amazon.

I love this sauce as every Japanese house hold has it & we all grew up with it! They are much cheaper at the Asian supermarket but I have no way to get there, so I use Amazon but the price is at least a couple dollars more than at the store... It's the same with Japanese mayonnaise! It got so expensive I can hardly believe it! It's at least $5 more than buying it at the store...=_=
