Review

"Ethan and Valerie, along with their friends, show us some of the uglier truths behind the life of musicians. For us as outsides, we tend to see lives we want, not what is real. Here we get a glimpse into lives of the young and confused rockers. While they deal with the complications of alcohol, drugs, sex, and addiction, we wonder... can a rock star have a happily ever after?" Desiree, AVCProofreading

I don’t get all these five star reviews. Without giving the plot away, this is about two of the most stupid characters I have read about in quite a while. The relationship starts out toxic and mentally abusive and then you spend 39 chapters waiting for both them to straighten up. The heroine, who initiated the relationship in the first place, puts up with drug abuse, verbal abuse and cheating. Then a baby is brought into the mix. At some point you think both of the main characters will get their act together and grow up but then in the last chapter something very quickly happens that makes you want to throw your Kindle across the room. Her epiphany takes about 10 pages then she finds her HEA but by that point you really don't care.

Before you even start this book, you know it is going to be something different as it opens with a note to the reader from the author, a story about how Bullet came to be and a heads-up that this is a long book.

Yes, Bullet is long but it is an emotionally engaging and powerful story that is so worth the journey to an ending that will leave you with a huge smile and a full heart.

Bullet tells the story of Valerie "Val" Quinn and starts with her as naive college freshman. When she meets rock star wannabe Ethan Richards she is introduced to a world of things that tempt her, push her and in the end transform her.

Ethan's world brings alcohol, drugs, and a love of music that is the center to this epic story. Ethan also brings a cast of friends who take Val into their world as one of their own.

Ethan will frustrate you, he will piss you off, he will make you mad and it is this range of emotions that contributed to my 5 star rating. Getting a reader to feel emotions to connect with so many characters is a gift and is a tell-tale sign of a wonderful book.

Ms. Jamison not only developed Val and Ethan into people you feel like you know and wish you could lecture but also build a cast of characters I grew to adore; Ethan's band mates, Brad, Nick, and Zane and a rocker that share a tour with Clayton were all so well done! Each has their own personality and their own bond with Val.

Brad takes a center role in the story and I beyond adored his character; he was patient, kind, loving, compassionate and Brad is so much of what so many woman would want in a man.

The sex scenes in this book were really well done, each was unique and they were used to show emotion and in some cases Val's personal growth. Ms.

I'm all for angst in my books but come on! The heroine was a hot mess for absolutely no reason at all. I don't have to necessarily relate to the characters, nor do I have to like them. But, I do have to understand where they are coming from. None of these characters made any sense at all.

There were many things that hit me wrong about this book but here are just a few of them:

a)The story is writtin in the heroine's POV and after a few chapters I want to scrub out my brain and start over. Just nonsensical reasoning one right after another.
b) The heroine is irrisistable to all the male species in the book. I mean, every single guy she meets in this book falls straight into love/lust with her. What is this? Animal planet? She must be giving off some potent pheromones. (I want me some of that. Where can I get it? The internet?)
c) There is no rhyme or reasoning to the flow of the story line. Just wandering around one scene to the next. So I'm either bored or irritated. Not a state I want to be in while reading a book.

Just pass this one up.

Wow. I had to walk away and take a few while I was reading this. I actually got so mad at dbag I walked away for a few! Ha! Yes it's true...walked away mad people and I won't name the dbag you'll figure it out. I just wish it went on a little longer, such a shame it had to end. Jade kills it again. I'm waiting for the next story she puts out to unfold so I can fall in love/lust all over again.

We meet Valerie Quinn in the present for Chapter 1, but we are treated to a combination of both past and present events leading up to her current situation. Along the way, we watch Valerie in her desperate attempt to hold on to her first love, her adventures as a heavy metal front[woman], her brief romantic encounters with men perfect to distract her from that first love and finally, the revelation of what she REALLY needs in her life. All told from Valerie's POV, this book gives us more than the average girl falls for rock star, rock star loves back and they live happily ever after. She shares her encounters with drugs, cheating and jealousy, as well as love, desire and the pursuit of her dreams.

There were so many moments in this story that I was overcome with some form of emotion...anger, joy, sadness or emotional pain. The author even managed to make me blush with sympathetic awkwardness during some scenes. Make sure you've got plenty of awake hours to read this, because you won't want to put it down. I know I didn't!

This is one of the best books I have ever read! Jade does it again with the Metal romance! I experienced all emotions from happy to sad to fighting mad! Valerie is a character that you can identify with on every level. The book is well written and has a good pace. The ending does not feel rushed and you feel complete at the end. Not that one more with the same characters would not be in order. Who doesn't want more Jet... The journey into adulthood for these characters is an enjoyable read.
