OK, I was informed there were problems with the file, so I contacted Amazon and they updated and delivered the complete book to my device. What a difference! Great story and great finale. Even if it ends in a cliffhanger, this time it's an adequate one, and makes you crazy to read the next instalment. In this instalment, Isabella realises she's being followed. When she makes a ruckus, she realises this must be Logan's doing. So she goes total gangbuster on him to investigate. I loved Sarah the bodyguard, she was so snarky, and had great convos with Izzy. I loved that Izzy and Logan could get together again, and now we have the suspense of what Aimee the psycho stalker will come out with next. It was great reading, both for the suspense, the great dialogue, and the love story.
Logan King has pushed away the woman he fell in love with in his private oasis of a town, Winchester Falls. He told himself, 'you don't s*** where you live' so falling in love with Isabella and then dumping her was not a good move. But, unfortunately he wants to protect her from his stalker. The first book occurs in approximately a week's time span of their first meeting. As this second story opens up, approx. 4 months have passed and Isabella is picking up the pieces of her heart and moving on. Her book business is thriving and she chooses to travel in order to keep her mind off of all things Logan King. But, of course , we get an angry reunion, a sexy hot make up scene and fully committed attempt to have a relationship.
We still have the shadow of stalker Aimee hanging over the couple and this all comes to a head as our book ends in an explosion of Between the Lines, and a wounded Isabella is removed from the fire and rubble by Logan, as she tearfully calls for her best friend, Nic.
That's all you get until book three. This second book was not as fleshed out as the first one. It felt slightly hurried and even though the sex scenes are well done, I wanted more from the author with regard to plot line and depth. It is pretty well written and edited with possibly one or two extra words in places.
In book 2, Bulletproof Weeks, Logan and Isabella find their way back to each other and are building a life together while facing challenges of a rockstar on the road. It has a vastly different vibe. One of pure tension. With a crazed stalker lurking, there is a constant sense of imminent danger around every corner. Watching. Waiting to strike.
The focus is more on Isabella in this book. She’s much stronger, forcing Logan to stop hiding the stalker’s evil actions from her and deal head on. Logan, because of Isabella’s love, finally finds peace with some of the demons that had been haunting him. Despite being so frequently apart due to Logan touring, their love grows…until the unthinkable happens.
Bulletproof Weeks is an adrenaline rush from start to finish. It grabbed me and dragged me along in its wake. I love Logan and Isabella even more now and can’t wait for Edge of Forever to experience their final journey. After what has happened, is a happily ever after a certainty? I'm sure it will be, but suspect Taryn Elliott will wreak havoc on our emotions getting us there.
