Product Description

The Bulman paper cutter is made out of steel, has a rod with a built-in double-edged blade for cutting paper, and accommodates up to 9"-diameter rolls of paper. The steel construction of the paper cutter provides strength to hold heavy 9" rolls of paper, while the gray powder-coated finish helps resist corrosion for prolonged use. Paper rolls fit on a dowel supported by two dowel holders on the cutter's ends; to help facilitate roll changing, the dowel holders lock in the open position. A rod runs horizontally across the paper roll to hold paper in place for cutting; a built-in double-edged blade runs along the rod and allows cutting both over- and under- hanging paper.

Rubber feet prevent the cutter from scratching surfaces when freestanding on tables or counters. The paper cutter can be installed on a counter's top or underside, or be wall mounted (hardware sold separately) to suit different applications and workspace preferences. The paper cutter is suitable for trimming butcher, craft, and giftwrap paper in schools, restaurants, warehouses, gift shops, and other commercial stores, among other applications.

Bulman manufactures dispensers and cutters for paper, food film, tape, twine, ribbon, and other rolled materials. The company is headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI.

I bought this for my wife to use for her new wrapping paper table. I don't know why we needed a table in a room dedicated to wrapping presents but if you have a similar pinterest view of things then I am sure you will like it. It can get a bit heavy if you put a big roll of paper in but the product seems heavy duty and should last a lifetime. Since it is used for wrapping presents then the larger width is must but you may be able to go smaller depending on your needs because the thing is pretty big.

My second Bulman paper cutter purchase - 1st was for a smaller 24" version.

Great value and quality. Rubber feet are included, but are not attached and in a small plastic zipper bag that could easily be overlooked in the packaging.

I use this paper cutter almost every day and you'll probably never guess why. I have an umbrella cockatoo who's cage needs changing every day. Instead of buying expensive pre-cut papers from some pet supply house, I just go to my garage and quickly and easily cut off a couple of pieces of brown butcher paper and whoola, I'm done! I love it and will never use anything else. I have had this for well over a year now and am as happy today as the first day.

Sits nice and flat on my counter. the rolls weigh quite a bit but this rack allows you to easily cut any length you desire. Good design. Becareful though as the legs can act as a large pair of scissors. Not to forgiving if you get a finger pinched trying to move it with a brand new roll installed

For some reason I thought their would be a sharp blade on this. Now that I have it, I am glad there is no serrated edge. We just use this to tear the butcher paper for our son's art projects (currently, that means scribbling on a large piece of butcher paper that sits on the floor or table). It tears a relatively clean edge. My only concern is the wooden dowel seems like it is going to permanently bend/warp from the weight of of the roll.

It is very long and as we only have a 24" role of paper on it, I think I could have gotten away with the smaller version.

I wish I could delete the bad reviews from people who bought this product not knowing what it was....sheesh. Think of this as a paper dispenser or a roll paper holder. It is does exactly what it supposed to do and is a well made, sturdy piece of equipment. I am back after using one at my office for 4 years to buy another for myself. It holds the 1000ft rolls of art paper (bulletin board paper) and I'm looking at getting one for myself for wrapping paper.

The fact that this also assists in the tearing of paper is a bonus. The bar that goes across the roll holds the paper in place and also gives you a tension mounted straight edge along which to tear your paper. This is how art paper, butcher paper, bulletin board paper, etc has been used in schools and businesses for years. There is no "serrated edge" that someone whined about. It's not a blade. It's a straight edge. If you want a perfect cut, use a pair of scissors. This holder keeps your paper in a convenient contraption, allows you to pull off as much paper as you need, tear it off in one piece, and keeps the roll from unrolling. It's perfectly made. The little rubber feet on the bottom keep it from slipping or sliding on the table or countertop you're working from.

The key to a perfect tear is tension. Hold both corners of the piece you are tearing. Put stiff tension on one corner and begin to move the paper against the tension bar, either up or down (depending on how your roll is on the rack. I prefer to have it coming over the top so I can tear by lifting up against the tension bar). Once it begins to cut, maintain motion and tension on the corner you are tearing and pull it all the way across the bar. You'll get a perfect tear every time. Ideal sizes of paper that are easy for tearing are between 2-6 feet long.

Amazon.com comes through again! Arrived on time and it works great! The dispenser meets our needs perfectly, with easy draw of the paper to the needed length and perfect cutting edge for a quick graceful motion for speed.

This has been on my 'wish list' for years. I finally just ordered it in time for Christmas wrapping and am so glad I did. Makes wrapping so much easier and has taken much of the scissor-work out of wrapping since there is a 'cutter' on the stand where you just pull the paper off. It also folds closed for easy storage.
