In 1875, a young Czech immigrant named Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, and a legendary American watch brand was born. Bulova was trained as a jeweler, and his expertise carried over into his watchmaking career, which began around 1911 with boudoir clocks and pocket watches, and soon evolved to include what was then one of the latest and most fashionable technological innovations: the wristwatch.
Bulova introduced its first line of wristwatches in 1919. The company grew and prospered, and soon early radio and television ads were declaring, "America runs on Bulova time." In the 1950s, continuing its legacy of innovation, Bulova introduced Accutron, the first electronic watch, and the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. The Accutron timing mechanism was later adapted for use by NASA computers and a Bulova timer was even placed on the moon to control transmissions of data. Bulova timepieces have kept official time aboard Air Force One and have also served as official timepieces for U.S. Olympic teams.
Today, Bulova maintains its tradition of excellence in technology and design, offering a diverse collection of beautiful precision timepieces for every occasion.

The problem with its condition was the band. I received 3 of these, all with serious scuffs and scratches on almost every link of the band. I returned 2 of them and even told Amazon of the problem so they would not send a third with the same issue. They did anyway, but offered a fair credit on the third one so I could get the scratches polished out. Looks good now, but I was disappointed with Amazon in this process. Took a few weeks to have a watch that was actually in new condition.

I wanted a "green (solar or automatic)" watch after then current battery in Swatch Irony ran out. After tracking this watch for well over two years, and not wearing a watch for a month I finally bit when for some reason the price nose dived that particular day.
The watch is big and heavy. It is LOT bigger in person.
I'm 6'2 180 and I need to take four links off the band. The head of watch covers most of my wrist...
Overall design is understated and sophisticated.
The watch is built like a tank. It is VERY musculine in design.
Few shakes of watch will power about 30 minutes of movement.
My real problem with this watch is of cosmetic....
Unlike the product photo, the watch head frame and the edge of the band is "CHROME."
I mean it's mirror finished full size pickup truck bumper chrome....Little loud for my taste..
The band had few scuffs on the said mirror finished edge..like it's been used.
If it was sand blasted mat metal finish like the advertised photo and had better presentation as in "not looking like the product was used," I might have given five star and gladly kept the watch but.....three and a half considering.
P.S. Amazon is definitely slipping. I would put serious lean on Bulova to get its act straight. In turn Bulova should consider changing its band vendor...or monitor the factory for better QC.
I kept the watch despite the band's cosmetic flaws. The flaw is inexcusable for a jewelry/time piece product.
Worn around six hours a day, the watch's been ticking away diligently without ever worrying about it stopping.Read more ›
