The world’s most accurate watch with a continuously sweeping second hand. Most quartz watches are accurate to within 15 seconds/month. Precisionist is accurate to within 10 seconds/year.

From the Champlain Collection. In titanium with curved crystal, multiple-layer black carbon fiber, gunmetal and charcoal gray dial, continuously sweeping second hand, luminous hands and markers, curved calendar window, 24-hour track, screw-back case, screw-down crown, Cordura ballistic strap and water resistance to 300 meters.

    Precisionist Technology

With Precisionist, Bulova has added a third prong to a standard two prong quartz crystal creating a torsional resonator. This innovation results in eight times the vibration frequency of a traditional quartz watch resulting in the most accurate watch with a continuously sweeping second hand. The aesthetic movement of the second hand becomes the symbol to the consumer of Bulova Precisionist and signals a watch with accuracy so exceptional, you can see it. The technology is accurate to 10 seconds per year as compared to most other quartz watches, which are accurate to fifteen seconds per month.

    About Bulova

In 1875, Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old immigrant from Bohemia, set up shop in New York City and a legendary American watch brand was born. Since that time, Bulova has stood proudly in the vanguard of timekeeping innovation, committed to the legacy of creativity and excellence established by its founder.

A pioneering force in the industry, Bulova transformed how watches were worn and how time was perceived, registering over 50 patents as he and his company built a record of creativity including the first full lines of men’s and ladies’ wristwatches (1919 and 1924). To ensure the utmost in precision, in 1920, Bulova even established its own observatory – located atop its New York skyscraper. With the same spirit of innovation, following World War II, determined “to serve those who served us,” Bulova established The Bulova School of Watchmaking, using new and unique methods to train disabled veterans for positions in the watch and jewelry industry. Then, in 1960, Bulova changed timekeeping forever with the revolutionary Accutron, the world’s first fully electronic watch. An integral component of U.S. space technology, Accutron timing was used on 46 NASA missions, including Apollo XI, the first lunar landing (1969).

Today, this dedication to creativity continues, with Bulova the only brand to offer three distinct timekeeping technologies – quartz, mechanical and Precisionist. One of the world’s most recognized brands, Bulova continues to maintain its position at the forefront of the timekeeping industry, upholding an extraordinary heritage of achievement in design, style and technology as it expands to meet the needs of a diverse global audience.

My wife "and kids" purchased this for me for Father's Day this year. I've had my eye on this watch for some time and my wife knew it. She did order it through Amazon at got it for a good price. I already own a few Bulovas, some less expensive and some more expensive, but this one has hit a great sweet spot.

While it can serve as a "dressy" watch, for me it is a great everyday watch. It has an intriguing gunmetal and carbon fiber face and a curved crystal that is very attractive and masculine. I much prefer metal bands to leather, but the ballistic nylon band on the 96B132 is much more comfortable than either metal or leather. The nylon band, along with the nicely sized titanium case, also helps keep the watch weight down. I have a mix of both mechanical and quartz movement watches in my collection, but I have to say that I love the continuously sweeping second hand of the Bulova Precisionist quartz watches, including this one.

If you're looking for the super over-sized watches prevalent today, the 96B132 isn't for you. If you're looking for a super slim fashion watch, again, the 96B132 isn't for you. However, if you're looking for a moderately sized, masculine, light-weight, everyday watch with some class, then consider the 96B132. It looks like nothing else in my watch collection but has immediately become my favorite.

This is a great looking watch. My husband loves it and it looks amazing on him. I've sold many high end watches and know my stuff so I'm pretty picky about what I buy. I wish I had the money to afford a really nice watch like OMEGA or TAG HEUER but that is way out of my budget. I did a little research on the movement and don't completely understand how it works but I get the concept. This watch is not a true automatic movement, it is battery operated despite the sweeping hand so don't be confused. However, I think it has a little more quality behind it than the basic typical Bulova Japan quartz movement. If that sort of thing is a big deal to you do your research, long term I don't know what to expect from this movement so I will update if it causes problems. For the price, the construction, look and feel combined with the titanium case and carbon fiber dial make it good choice. Im glad I could find something he likes so much without spending over a few hundred bucks. I'm giving it a four star only because I don't know what to expect from this movement long term. I'm hoping just a battery every few years will do the trick to keep it ticking but that remains to be seen.

I bought this watch after looking at it in the store. It is huge but very stylish. It's much shinier then the picture suggests, it looks amazing in person. the continuously swooping second hand is very nice to look at. If you want a giant and very stylish watch, i'd recommend checking it out in a store and seeing how it looks on you before you purchase. it might be too big for some. excellent watch, i'd recommend checking it out!

I bought the first one and it looked to be factory new as there was the clear plastic over the face of the watch and a cardboard tab under the knob. I got it running and the watch fogged up when walking from the air conditioned house or car to outside. I never submerged it under water, it would stay fogged up for an hour or so and then sort of clear up. I returned it and replaced with the same, this watch however, did not have any plastic on the face of the watch, no cardboard tab, and the watch was already running.

That screamed refurbished to me, regardless, this watch as well fogged up. Not impressed with this model. I ended up going with 96B175 and before even wearing, I did actually submerge this watch in a large stainless bowl of water filled with a tub of ice cubes and water. I left it set for just over 30 hours. No fogging, everything is fine.

Great looking watch I LOVE the style and the band, I've gotten so many compliments. But I'm one of those people who over obsess about things at times. I expected the Precisionist to be just that...precise. The watch goes fast, maybe about 30 seconds in between day lights savings and all. I HATE that.

I'm going to keep the watch regardless as I love the styling and I don't think even if I had gotten a replacement that it would be as precise as they say, but still upset about their so called claim.

Sweeping second hand, carbon fibre backing, Kevlar band, 100% Titanium body and the name: Bulova.

I love this watch, it is probably the second most expensive in my collection. I wear it to work as Director of Operations....at an AUTO REPAIR SHOP. It is so durable and well made that I cannot stress enough the quality. It is a good size but does not "extend" beyond your wrist circumfrance. (I am 170 lb guy) So...its not huge but it is bigger than a "normal" sports watch.

I purchased this because I wanted to have a very high quality watch that I NEVER take off....ever. I wanted something (to be honest) that was prestigious and classy while not being pretentious. Sure I could say: Look at my Kevlar band, This keeps time within 10 seconds/yr, not 15, The case is pure Titanium....BLAH BLAH.

These are the facts I know and why I love the watch. This is no "Shark Freestyle" (which I sported into my 20's)

MFG warranty is 3 years. This is another reason that it rocks.

Sorry for the typo's. Amazon please add spell check to reviews.
