In 1875, a young Czech immigrant named Joseph Bulova set up shop in New York City, and a legendary American watch brand was born. Bulova was trained as a jeweler, and his expertise carried over into his watchmaking career, which began around 1911 with boudoir clocks and pocket watches, and soon evolved to include what was then one of the latest and most fashionable technological innovations: the wristwatch.
Bulova introduced its first line of wristwatches in 1919. The company grew and prospered, and soon early radio and television ads were declaring, "America runs on Bulova time." In the 1950s, continuing its legacy of innovation, Bulova introduced Accutron, the first electronic watch, and the first breakthrough in timekeeping technology in over 300 years. The Accutron timing mechanism was later adapted for use by NASA computers and a Bulova timer was even placed on the moon to control transmissions of data. Bulova timepieces have kept official time aboard Air Force One and have also served as official timepieces for U.S. Olympic teams.
Today, Bulova maintains its tradition of excellence in technology and design, offering a diverse collection of beautiful precision timepieces for every occasion.See all Product Description

I wanted to polish up a few spots on it so sent it to our jeweler, thinking he could do it easily. Surprise, it really needs very delicate gentle polishing since it's plated. And, the stones are GLUED in so don't dip the non-case parts into cleaner. Be very very careful with it.
At any rate, this watch is a beauty in person. The mother-of-pearl backdrop is so classy, it doesn't look like a cheap department store watch at all. The movement is very smooth and it keeps perfect time, though I noticed that it goes through batteries a little faster than my other watches. I keep the stem pulled out when I'm not wearing it (a tip from my jeweler).
A note on size: I have very small wrists (6"), I can wear a good majority of children's watches. There is a lot of extra play in the watch band but that's easy to remedy if you are similarly afflicted!
Price on this item varies wildly so shop well before making your purchase. I've seen it retail for $350 when our customer came in with it, and I've seen it a fraction of that.

The watch is beautiful. Upon arrival, I did notice that there was a small amount of what appeared to be dust inside the Bulova box, but the watch itself was in perfect condition. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Amazon Customer
