There is no question that automatic and mechanical watches are starting to come back into fashion, which is really good. I have always said that automatics are the most everlasting and running watches of all kinds of power, because it is just the simple motion-of-wrist. This new automatic square face, looks absolutely simple and noble from its top and bottom, as well as the elegant leather strap. It is a classic timepiece that works and runs by the movement of the wrist and the crown well. This is definitely Bulova's answer to automatic watch brands like Sthurling and Seiko 5. I definitely like the class on this watch, and I definitely recommend this as a great buy for yourself, especially if you are looking for a definitive timepiece. So many automatics before were oversaturated with the skeletal face, but this is pure class, and a great price.

I have always wanted an automatic watch, and since I cannot yet afford a Swiss-made watch, I have carefully looked around for an alternative. I received this yesterday. It runs quietly and reliably. If this changes, I shall change my review. As for size, it is a large watch, but not as large as some reviews make it seem. I am a small female, and this watch is not much bulkier than the average watch of this retro style. It is absolutely stunning in its classic good looks, and it ran as soon as I took it out of the box. I wound it about six turns, put it on my wrist, and it still is accurate. If you want Bulova quality, a retro look, just enough viewing window to mesmerize yourself during boring meetings, and compliments, this is your watch.

Bulova doesn't get the love that is showered upon Seiko or Swiss movements, but this is a fantastic looking, high quality watch. Is it in the class of Rolex or Cartier? Certainly not, but it's not an invicta or steinhausen Chinese movement either. Bulovas are quite refined, and you get exactly what you paid for. Looking forward to adding another to my collection. Despite current reviews, mine came with the "tuning fork " logo.

I got this for my son, who's graduating college on Saturday. I wanted him to have a classically styled watch that does not require an annual battery change that, if not done, can result in battery leakage that destroys the inside.

This is a very nice looking watch. My problem with it is that it is very large. It looks and wears much larger than the quoted dimensions. I have an average wrist for someone 5' 10" that is not a muscle head. With the stiff new band it did not look or feel comfortable. It might be great for someone slightly smaller than Andre the Giant and larger than Arnold the "Terminator".

The movement is non hacking and manual winds and only auto winds in one direction. The out of the box readings were...
+12 secs per day dial up, +12, 6 up, and +1, 9 up. Not bad. It had a beat error of .6 sec in all three positions.

Got it for about 2 weeks now..Its an automatic watch, therefore it will not run if u dont wear it or move it. It will die within 8-10 hours if u dont watch it. Just shake it up and reset the time, and u r good to go. The leather (dont know if it will break in soon) is a little hard and a bit uncomfortable on my wrist, and the bezel is a bit thick for my taste. All is ok but I just wish that it was a sapphire crystal glass.
